Stayed there overnight as part of a package tour.||1. Location||Hotel is situated north of the river in a fairly remote part of the city. It takes about 30mins in good traffic to get to the city centre. No amenities near the hotel with the nearest convenience store about 3-4km away. Construction underway around the hotel which hopefully would give some life to this place. There is a condo next to the hotel if you are thinking company.||2. Room||We stayed in a loft unit. Extremely spacious with the basic fittings. TV channels limited to mainland shows. No bath tub in our assigned room. Bed is king size with a dedicated wifi for each room (a pleasant surprise!)||3. Facilities.||Basic gym setup on the second floor. No dumbbells and the floor makes a creaking noise. Fairly spartan. No pool or other entertainment facilities.||4. Breakfast||Ordinary for the lack of a better word. While it claims to be an international spread, food served was mainly mainland-style. Adding cereals and scrambled eggs to the menu doesn't qualify.||5. Service||There is no restaurant in the hotel and the remote location means food is not readily available. We ordered room service from a limited menu. Avoid the pasta and Chinese dishes. The beef burger is the best bet. And skip the desserts at all cost. Food took a long time to be delivered and an even longer time to be cleared (took 3 calls to remind the staff to clear).||Having stayed at many hotels, this is the first that I see quarreling front counter staff. For a guest, it makes for uncomfortable viewing and definitely a tick in...
Read moreThis is a relatively new hotel, having opened its door only in the 2nd half of last year. The main lobby isn't as large as I had expected. The doormen and chambermaids were very polite, who greeted me with a smile everytime I walked past them. I found out that some rooms came with only a shower area, some with only a tub, and some with both facilities in them. The room which I stayed in had both the tub and a shower area. The Room was spacious and the Beds were extremely comfy and CLEAN. However, the same cannot be said about the carpets which are extremely filthy. The hotel is only a year old, yet the carpets looked like they've been around for eons (without maintenance). It's a shame that such a beautiful room was ruined by the (-ve)impression of the carpet. The tub and basin area were well-maintained, but I hope the management can please do something about the stains in the crevices of the shower area. Continental breakfast was above average. This hotel seemed to be very popular with businessmen and is although it is located far from the madding crowd, the supermarket ( called SU GUO in local context ) is only a 5-min walk from the hotel ( KFC, Hair Salons, Clothing stores are located in the vicinity of the...
