I stayed at this hotel in Nantong for 1 night as there is almost no global luxury hotel brands over there. However, I searched IHG global website and find this Holiday Inn and choose their executive floor. I believe as a global international hotel group, basically, at least, they follow the global standards to run their business internationally. What surprised me was the service was terrible in Oasis. I went to have breakfast the 2nd morning, there was a friend come to see me, I invited her to join me for breakfast. I know my room rate maybe only cover 1 breakfast, actually, I am not sure only cover 1 or 2. I was told that my friend need to pay additional fee for breakfast which is no problem and acceptable. My friend gave the money to a waitress at the entrance of restaurant. However, I asked whether her meal could be put in my bill, the girl who is responsible for reception was very much rude and unwilling to process that. On the other hand, I even saw she's very impolitely to use her finger to point out guests for signing up the breakfast. I am a frequent traveller, gained a lot of stay experience in some other hotels as well, including Fairmont and Ritz Calton every year. I can say I never experienced such a bad service. I think the management of Holiday Inn need to pay more attention for these 3 tier city hotels, otherwise you will lost a lot of...
Read moreWe spent a celebratory night in this hotel and the expectations were high. We were not disappointed, we had a wonderful staycation in a comfortable room on the 22nd floor and a view on the surroundings. We chose the “superior room” and it can with an extremely comfortable bed (with 2 pillows each: one soft and one firm, to meet everyone’s preferences), a big desk, a reading armchair and a big bathroom with both shower and bathtub. The room was very clean and the hotel itself gave a “luxury” vibe while being affordable. The receptionist spoke English, and so did some of the staff at the breakfast. The breakfast is a buffet with a huge choice, both Chinese and Continental (baozi, eggs, bacon, meat, cold cuts, rice…but also fruit, fresh bread and pastries, many types of juice, coffee, yogurt and cereals…)The hotel also has a spa, a gym, a swimming pool and some restaurants, but we didn’t try any (…this time!)Around the structure there are many places to eat and many different malls, and it is very close to the train station, even if it is a little far from the center. All in all we had a wonderful experience and we want to repeat it as...
Read moreHaving stayed in the hotel on and off for around 6 months, I can truly say that I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to other travelers. In my work I stay at many hotels for long periods of time. So are good some are not so good. This hotel and the staff who work here have consistently looked after my needs from day to day. I am not always the best guest to hotels, but this did not worry the staff and they always assisted me when I ask for information or assistance. Whilst is not downtown, there is a free shuttle bus service and a taxi back is around 18Rmb The food in restaurant buffet is themed and this changes periodically, there is always lots of choice and recently they introduced a one person hot pot, which for a single traveler like myself, is excellent. There is a band who play in the evenings in the restaurant and lobby bar. The rooms are very good and well maintained, cleaning is efficient and timely. Washing is back the same day usually within 4 hours. I have nothing but praise and warm thanks for the staff who work there and look forward to returning...
