Hangzhou Bay Hotel — Hotel in Ningbo

Good for the area.||||I've stayed here a few times and it's always been a good experience. Most recently, stayed in the 1st floor standard room, and it's a decent size. The bathroom is open style so makes a small room seem much bigger. Shower also has a rainfall head, which is very nice to relax with. All the amenities are there. ||||Breakfast buffet is very very solid. The Chinese offerings are actually pretty tasty, and there's an omelette station, which makes a lot of expats quite happy. There's also a noodle section, which is probably their weakest. Oh, and they also offer canned fruits, which is a bit disappointing, but makes up for it with their assortment of pastries and dim sum items, and all very good. The buffet overall is probably more flavorful and tasty than some big name chain hotels in China like SPG.||||The only thing about this hotel is that it is starting to show its age, and sometimes the staff will treat you better if you speak English rather than Mandarin. You will get the incense smell they use to repell mosquitos throughout the hotel. Might bother some if you're not familiar...

The quality of the materials used in the rooms and the cleanliness are definitely at a level that will not even reach the level of a 3-star hotel.i have booked a room with a lake view for a weekend break,unfortunately the room was incrediable loudly . Stayed here for one night, and I have to say the food was very good, but the hotel is average. To start we were in rooms in the "older" part of the hotel, which are in desperate need of updating. The room was clean, just old and tired looking. Bed had seen better days as the mattress was not so comfortable. Air Conditioning in the room did work well. View from my room was nothing to look at, back of industrial buildings I think. I have included it in this review.||||It did appear that the front section of the hotel had been renovated and it also appeared the renovations are continuing. ||||Had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was very good, breakfast in the morning was...
