This was my ‘home in Ningbo ‘ since 2011. I was always very happy with the accommodations & the staff. Although one of the first & oldest five star hotels in Ningbo , they kept up their standards through time. |Just before Corona they even refurbished quite some parts of the hotel with contemporary colors & features. A job well done. I came back in April 2023 & was happy that they seemed slowly back on track again. ||Great was my surprise when i came back only 6 months later. It seems the management has decided to exercise serious cost cutting. And this was felt immediately. ||Some examples:|- 1 toilet roll, no spare one|- 2 small foc waters|I am a 105kg European man from the North, so 25 dgr is hot for me! |- no re-fillings mini bar nor the fruit|- the yoghurt expired since French National Day in middle of October |Not life threatening at all, but certainly not up to five stars they still claim.||Also the lockers in common swimming pool hardly working, showers show moisture and black spots everywhere, Halloween feeling.||I am not a complaining man but took this up with commercial manager who argued that undoubtedly my ‘do not disturb’ light was on. Beside it not working, i am out all day to work & my room was made up… not like this style: customer always invoked on himself. And matters also not got solved, stayed the same.||I started my comment with the verb ‘was’, hate to go for old times’ sake. And when they seriously get their act together, one never knows. But for the moment, i’ll be looking for another ‘home in Ningbo ‘....
Read moreI recently stayed at Nanyuan Hotel during my visit to Ningbo, and I must say, I was impressed. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a lovely bathtub to relax in after a long day of sightseeing. I was also pleasantly surprised to receive a complementary bowl of fruits on arrival, which was a nice touch. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating, even offering complementary yogurt during my stay. The breakfast spread was good, although I would have preferred more western food options. Unfortunately, when I visited, they had run out of fried bacon. However, this did not detract from the overall experience. I also appreciated the option of a late check-out, which allowed me to leave after 1 PM.Overall, I would recommend Nanyuan Hotel to anyone visiting Ningbo. The staff were friendly, the room was comfortable, and the complementary extras were a nice touch. I would definitely consider staying here again, provided the price is right.Apologies about my photos, I remembered to take them only when I was a bout...
