Novotel Ningbo East — Hotel in Ningbo

Stayed here for 4 nights during a business visit in Ningbo and found this hotel has a pretty good room in size and facilities, however anywhere you go within the hotel, most staff could not speak english and not able to understand your needs fully. On the first night ordered a room service via phone, suddenly a waitress knocked my room presenting the menu for me to choose which I felt weird about but I did order as requested. Finally the fried rice menu arrived with such an oily looks and tasteless made my appetite lost. The breakfast has limited selection with the same menu all days with such a poor service where no one speak English and not able to serve tea as normally done in many 4/5 stars property around the world. ||Upon check out, the receptionist presented a bill for drinking water served on my work table which I though it is complimentary that I refused to pay because there is no clear information about the price or selling information.||Overall it is an average stay at...

Room with executive room access but disappointed. Breakfast with Chinese style and not international at all even though hotel chain is from France. Staff is nice but cannot speak English. Happy hour in Executive room is really shameless. Food is not fresh and stays on the dishes since many days and nobody replace with fresh food. Very few choise. No drink except than can. Room is good and really quite even though hot inside. Hairdryer work nice and it is surprise as in China is difficult to find hotel with hairdryer that is not a toy. Location very convenient at 200m far from subway station. No vanity kit like someone wrote in previous review. WiFi acceptable. Not only did my room not have the toiletries (conditioner, shower cap, hand soap, moisturiser) but the pillows are so uncomfortable. Usually, there is a spare pillow in the cupboard, but not in my room. housekeeping is useless - it took 3 attempts to bring the correct toiletries! Furthermore, there are stains on the carpet (see pictures below). I had dinner in the empty hotel restaurant and although the food was tasty, the grilled salmon I ordered took over an hour to come out of the kitchen.
