I do feel the room is a bit too expensive even after discount due to the event taking place. Although we have booked deluxe room but upon arrival one deluxe room was short and I ended up had to take the more expensive one. As usual, the days were hectic and I would be happy even with smaller room. The additional space not utilized. By right, they should have upgraded me without me paying additional. ||Having said that the room is clean and very nice. Two televisions that I used for 30 minutes for my whole duration. Mostly in Mandarin and I don't understand it. I love green tea so it is good when I had enough stock provided FOC by the hotel. Looking at the price of green tea at Leader Plaza, I would suppose the price of green tea was part of the cost of the room that made them expensive. I wish they have a pipe for toilet although it is not customary for China. Yet this is international hotel. ||Breakfast was great. A lot of choice. ||As I mentioned earlier ... Leader Plaza is just next door to very convenient to buy things. I love Laoshan Mineral Water. ||The receptionist not very good in English and need improvement there. ||Airconditioner not very cold but it is okay. ||I like it when it does have one plug "Uninterruptible Power Supply" so that I could have my handphones, tablet charged when I am out of the room for breakfast etc. ||Good experience but the room cost...
Read moreWe stayed for two nights on the weekend the beer festival opened. Unfortunately, the setup started at 6am of the first morning making sleep difficult, though this was of course no fault of the hotel. Luckily the festival itself shuts down at 11pm every night meaning we walked home in under five minutes and slept well the next night. ||||Wifi always worked well enough for our needs and the rooms are large and reasonably clean. As others mentioned, the beds are hard. ||||There is a wide variety for breakfast and the quality was fine. The coffee is not very good, but there is a Starbucks around the corner as well as another chain nearby (Costa, I believe?). There are also an Ajisen ramen restaurant and KFC next door, and a 24-hour convenience store half a block away. The beach is perhaps a ten-minute walk away and while I had no interest in lingering due to how packed with people it was, seeing it was an interesting sociological experience! ||||Staff were friendly and called us to enquire about something we'd left in the room after we'd checked out, which I thought was a nice touch. Overall, the hotel was a good choice for our weekend at the...
Read moreI've stayed at the Blue Horizon more than 10 times in the past 5 years, usually when business clients visit our Qingdao facility about 20 minutes away. The rooms are big enough and kept clean. The downstairs restaurant has all of the fresh food and fresh fish in tanks for you to choose from; the food quality is very good. The breakfast buffet has lots of tasty choices for all types of cultures. They have KTV in the basement.||||The staff has proven to be very helpful and friendly. During my last stay, it was after midnight and I was leaving at 6am. I needed to box up 2 very heavy and fragile glass parts. 3 people on their staff helped me get boxes, packing tape, knives, and then helped boxing...
