Himalayas Hotel Qingdao — Hotel in Qingdao

As a long stay guest (since 2015) I can highly recommend Himalayas Hotel. The building and the facilities have a contemporary and modern design, still create a warm and cozy atmosphere. The staff is friendly and ready to help. Not all staff speaks English but usually there always is someone at duty who speaks well or even excellent English. ||||The hotels restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet with a wide variety of Chinese and Western choices. Quality and taste is decent to very nice and the price is worth the money, especially if buying a voucher package. Sometimes though, because of the open kitchen, the air in the restaurant can get a little bit fumy, maybe the air ventilation system could be improved.||||Because of my long term stay I never used the hotel rooms, instead I'm living in an attached service apartment building. Same as the hotel, the design of the 2 floors, loft style apartment and its furniture is modern, tasteful and in a good way simple. In the west lies FuShan mountain and GuoXin Sport Center, the view is awesome. Noise pollution is not a problem and I also can praise the cleaning ladies, who are extremely friendly and in general do a good job. ||||The location is very suitable for me. The hotels concierge can help to order a taxi and with nowadays map apps (e.g. Apple maps) it's extremely easy and convenient to use public transportation. There are several bus stops around the hotel and the newly opened subway line 2 is in walking distance (1km). There are convenient stores, shops and restaurants around and in the attached shopping mall (BigThumb Plaza), but unfortunately the big supermarket directly in the basement closed down recently.||||In the beginning of my stay I especially enjoyed the hotels gym. Later on the gym got outsourced and now is operated by an external company. Since then it got quite crowded and messy there and the cleanliness of the gym doesn't live up to the rest of the hotel anymore.||||Despite some little points of criticism, overall I'm very satisfied with Himalayas Hotel and I can highly recommend it for long term or short term...

I would definitely stay here again. However, I have stayed at other great hotels in Qingdao and by comparison:- The location is very average. The "mall" next door is ok to visit but nothing like its counterparts (ie: Gold Lion Mall near Hyatt, MixC mall next to Shangrila and Westin)- Cleanliness is great, although small details are missed unlike at a 5 star hotel. - The cleaning lady was very sweet and very courteous to us and was available to clean whenever we left for a few hours during the day. Service was also good, but fell a bit short of other hotels I've stayed at. - Facilities seemed average although I did not get to explore much. In the room we stayed in, you could also hear this periodic high frequency humming noise which I think came from the HVAC fans that you can see on top of the Big Thumbs mall (大拇指) right outside our room. After a while, it just became white noise to me but my wife is a light sleeper so she was not that fond of it. Overall, I have no major complaints about the Himalaya hotel. Actually, one thing that I should point out is that the price per night was about $100-$200 less than the hotels I normally stay at in Qingdao (ie: Hyatt, Shangrila). So if you factor in the significantly lower price, all my ratings above would have gone up one more star. Again, I would definitely stay here again for the right price and if the hotels I normally stay at are $200-$300 per night during...

L'hotel Himalaya è una buona struttura, con camere ampie e confortevoli.||Belle le zone comuni ed ottima la qualità del cibo dell'unico, piccolo ristorante.||Tutto il personale è molto gentile e sempre pronto ad aiutare.||Il mio giudizio vuole esprimere una valutazione rapportata ai costi/servizi di hotel della stessa fascia di prezzo, per cui il parere è influenzato da alcune pecche che secondo me non ci dovrebbero essere a questi livelli.||Eccole:||- Camera al primo piano, piuttosto sfruttata e con arredamento logoro in alcuni punti. Esposta al sole per tutto il giorno, è sempre calda e l'aria condizionata è poco efficace. Odore di muffa e umido persistente.||- Il personale non parla inglese e questo è un problema. Anche solo ordinare un the o chiedere una fattura diventa difficile. Il personale del front-desk lo parla, le solite cose che devono dire al check-in, ma quando gli si fa una domanda non la capiscono. Questo è un aspetto che va assolutamente migliorato.||- Se la qualità del cibo è molto buona, la quantità e l'offerta sono piuttosto scarse, soprattutto a colazione e quando un prodotto finisce non ne viene quasi mai portato di nuovo. Servizio bevande scarso, con birra servita per lo più calda. Inizio dell'orario di colazione un po' tardi per chi deve partire presto, le 7.30 del mattino.||- Mi hanno telefonato in camera a mezzanotte per dirmi che non avevo firmato la ricevuta di un the preso al bar dopo cena, per cui comunque gli avevo dato il numero di stanza per l'addebito. Al di là che la mancata firma della ricevuta è stata una loro dimenticanza, non è accettabile telefonare in stanza a quell'ora, per cui li ho mandati a quel paese. La mattina dopo mi sono presentato al bar per la firma della ricevuta, ma non capivano nulla di quanto fossi pronto a fare, per cui sono dovuto recarmi alla reception e loro hanno finalmente sistemato la cosa.|| - In un hotel così ci si aspetterebbe una piscina e un centro benessere, ma i servizi della spa sono limitati a un piccolo bagno turco e al servizio massaggi.||L'hotel è attaccato a un bel centro commerciale, ha un ampio parcheggio sotterraneo e si trova a mezz'ora di taxi (con poco traffico) dal famoso monte Laoshan e a 45 minuti circa dalla zona balneare.||Se mi capiterà di tornare a Qingdao proverò però a...
