I spent 6 days recently at this hotel on a business trip. It is a very basic no frills hotel. The location is OK-just a short cab ride into the city or marina area. While the hotel is reasonably clean, the towels were old and worn . The bathroom is a tiny pre-fabricated modul and had a broken shower head. There's no bar fidge and the air conditioning controls don't work. The breakfast is very basic, and uninspiring. The check in process was difficult probably because I arrived at 3am and the concierge was half asleep and spoke no English. Staff generally helpful but no ability to communicate a barrier to being more helpful. The only good point is the little quaint coffee shop a short walk around the corner.I think there is far better value than this...
Read moreBooked room through Le Club Accor. Check-in was slow.||This hotel is no better than the domestic hotels of China, like Home Inn or Hanting Express. We stayed at room #357, a corner room, not much noise at night but, the floors were badly maintained. Housekeeping never once swept the floors. The bathroom was pre-fab type, just like on a cruise ship. ||Location wise, it was central to everything. Service was bad, each night of our stay, we had to go to reception to validate the key, as it would not open. Naturally this was very troublesome. Check out was also slow. Would NEVER stay here again!!!||Hint: never go to Qingdao in July and August, it is peak tourist season and it is a 'impossible' to get a cab. Traffic is...
Read moreI've stayed here multiple times in the past 3 years, and have always been happy with it. The rooms are simple but clean, and feel a bit like pre-fab plastic units (especially the bathrooms, which are a bit like a module in a space station). For the price (£10 a night when I've stayed there), it's really unbeatable. I wouldn't recommend the breakfast (it's overpriced), but there's plenty of food in the area. I don't really know what the bad reviews are complaining about -- I've never had a problem getting a taxi to this hotel (I do speak Chinese, maybe that helps -- you just have to tell them you want 'ningxia lu de...
