By the way your Marriott status in this hotel has absolutely no meaning because the staff is completely unable to recognize the different levels. I am Gold Elite and might as well have a person without status in their system. ||The one star rating is for the fact that the hotel is still very new.. if not for this it deserves a 0 star rate. This hotel is like having your favorite steak but only being served to you in the lid of a trashcan!! The staff has a good attitude but they are clueless as to how to service 5 stars hotel guests. ||While the temperature outside is 50 for some strange reason they keep the heat on 77-80. This is one of those hotels like must cheap hotels in China were they don’t let you control the temperature on our own. Except that this is supposed to be a five star level hotel and for the looks of it it is but looks are deceiving in this case new amenities is not the only reason why hotel should be classified as five stars the people the service in the hotel make the hotel happen and Marriott completely missed in this case. ||After traveling 24 hours to get here I walked to a room that was 82 degrees and not able to lower the temperature l called and after 30 minutes a maid showed up with a useless portable AC! I went to the lobby to tell the Manager and he called the engineer who told me that one unit controls every room in the floor. (I found out later that I was not true because the temperature in the executive club was 22° The next day while my room was a toasty 25°) anyways this went on five different times during the next day of my stay. I had to go ask for the temperature to be change the last time was at 1 o’clock in the morning. Others guest also commented to the desk person In the executive club. But it was useless. The last photo is the photo of the thermostats in the executive club. My recommendation is don’t stay in this hotel unless you are prepare to deal with super hot rooms that feels like a sauna and service people that pretend to care about your situation, actually do nothing about it because they don’t known how to offer they type of service you would expect at a Westin Hotel. BTW I don’t now if these comments have a time stamps. They should because it is 1:20 AM Beijing time and I have officially been dealing with this room temperature issue for 24!hours with not...
Read moreVisited The Westin Qingdao West Coast today. The staff there is super friendly and welcoming. Platinum elite can enjoy free dinner buffet as happy hour. I got room upgrade to a suite. After knowing there is a minor issue with my bath tub in the en-suite bathroom, Regina, one of the staffs, offer me a changing room without a second thought. I can see she is so willing to help and willing to take guest’s experience as her part of job. The room service is always serving soft drinks with a tray, this is very formal and nice looking. The calling center of the room service is very nice and good at listening. Before leaving, Tom, one of the staffs, gives me a stack of room key as gift. I finally collect all the room keys from the Westin. Shout out a big thanks to Tom. In summary, this is a very pleasant staycation and...
Read moreI attended an impressive healthcare event held at the conference centre adjacent to the hotel. I stayed in the hotel. The room was first class and well equipped. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I had breakfast in the ground floor restaurant which had excellent choices and well presented and cooked food. Really very good with a selection of western and oriental dishes. I also had a dinner in the second floor restaurant which although empty apart from me was really very good! Reasonably priced as well and I finished up taking almost half of the food back to my room to enjoy it later!|Many thanks to the management of the hotel for giving me an enjoyable stay! One word of caution is that you are a long way (30min taxi ride) from any bars or restaurants. However as I was working that didn’t...
