In obvious financial decline after the Evergrande real estate collapse, made painfully obvious by a whole hillside of abandoned partially bulit vacation condos. They have added nickel and diming extra fees to almost everything at the resort; from charging for water bottles in the room to lowering the "kids eat free" height limit from the China standard 120cm to a unique 110cm limit. The hot springs was surprisingly empty (with half of the pools closed), while the hotel buffet was amazingly overpacked.
The Family friendly kid focused hotel rooms with play area and slides looked truly amazing! Unfortunately there was no way to upgrade to one of the many vacate rooms after arrival without voiding our prepaid hot spring ticket fees.
It sounds cool that they have a go kart race course, minigolf course, and (human pedeled) children's amusement playground. Yet all of them required exboranant extra fees or were unbuilt-but-advertised.
The other hot spring resorts in Guangdong we've been to, including biweishaw and Cloud Nine Hot Spring Whiskey Hotel were much better quality and enjoyable.
