Problems encountered during the stay:
A invitation card of participating in "Make a green choice" initiative was placed at a conspicuous spot on the desk of my room. However, when I request to enroll, the hotel staff appeared to know nothing about the program at first and then told me the property did not participate.
In the evening before check-out date, I called the service center of the hotel for reservation at the Chinese restaurant at around 9:20 pm. Although the operating hours of the Chinese restaurant was until 10:00 on guest directory, the staff rejected my reservation saying that the time of last order was 9:30 pm and later told me the time of last order was changed to 9:00 pm for that day. (Wrong information, the actual last order time was 9:30 pm and wasn't moved forward, there was also no indication of last order time on the hotel directory for dining options.)
Knowing that there wasn't any restaurant available, I asked whether I could order third party delivery and pick up out side the hotel lobby, as the resort was very far away from the city center. Although the hotel policy was that outside food could be delivered to the reception and handed to bell boy (confirmed by GSM after check-out), the receptionist told me that third party delivery was forbidden to enter the property and I had to walk all the way to the main gate of the resort to collect it, which was at least 800m away from the lobby. I requested repeatedly of the staff to double confirm that information with her duty manager and got rejected repeatedly, and that was a rainy night.
The executive lounge of the hotel has been closed since December 2016. But when I was making my reservation on SPG app, there was no indication of the closure and the hotel was still selling club rooms at a different price with the description of "lounge benefits".
Reported the above-mentioned problems to management but received 0 reply for 7 days. Requested reply from director of rooms multiple times but senior management seem uninterested in conversing with an...

Easy access from downtown Qingyuan and Guangzhou.A very warm welcome from Danny and his team during check in.
Spacious rooms and stunning layouts. Beautiful welcome fruit platters. Automatic toilets and spectacular in room spa.
Dined at the Yue Chinese restaurant on the date of arrival for lunch. Tried both roast and Qingyuan style chicken, among other local delicacies. Brilliant presentation and absolutely delicious.
Enjoyed sun tan beside the outdoor pool, the only downside was the requirement of using a swimming cap, in the pool which was full of leaves anyway. Please remove this nonsense so people can really enjoy the "outdoor" pool.
Alcohol selection during Happy Hours in the Club Lounge was fair. We were the only Platinum/full paying Executive Floor guests. The staff were attentive and helpful. For those used to imported sparking water, you will be disappointed like I did. The food was just alright if you have no idea what to eat for dinner. No breakfast was served in the Club Lounge so prepare yourself to be surrounded by screaming kids and large tour groups in the Feast Restaurant during breakfast.
The fountain show was good, and indeed very good if you have not been to Vegas.
Breakfast selections in the Feast Restaurant were fair but as stated earlier, overcrowded and noisy.
Overall a very good stay with a few friends. Danny deserves the credit of looking after his elite SPG members. Well done Danny and I will certainly return to Sheraton Qingyuan because the efforts you and your team have...
Read moreYou can find roughly total 5 English speakers among the hotel staff. First of all, appreciate help of Tommy, Allen and Andy. It should be impossible for us to stay here without you concierge staff help.
Location It's far from Qingyuan city downtown and you need to call taxi everytime, it takes 20 minutes to wait and costs 60~70 RMB. But from downtown, it's only 30 RMB. I understand the hotel to choose this location because it's together with the golf course but it's very inconvenient unless you play golf.
Service If you don't speak Chinese, click back and search for another hotel. You can literally count the number of staff who can speak English. The problem is that it's not just English skill. Restaurant staff simply run away from us and didn't want to greet maybe they were afraid of speaking English. Later on, one manager came to help receiving the order but she was leaning on my chair when receiving. Service mentality is below local restaurants. We had great dinners in many local restaurants except here. For breakfast, don't panic if a Chinese stranger wants to sit next to you, it's that crowded and unserved. I don't understand how this hotel can be named 'Sheraton'. Or I guess it's time to change my concept of Sheraton from my mind.
Food I asked omelette and chef cooked scrambled egg and then made it as an omelette shape. Local restaurants were far better for both price and taste.
Room Fuse box kept making problem, so safety box, fridge, iPod speaker, master light switch didn't work properly. I had to climb up the cabinet, open and fix the fuse box by myself...
