Decent hotel with nice breakfast spread suitable for overseas chinese some local snacks eg, stuffed glutinous rice ball (aka hakka snacks) but almost zero western spread. Had dinner at the hotel restaurant, stewed pork knuckle (hong bak) was tasty, lohmee was equally good. Stayed one night at the hotel on 2nd floor, the room was clean but horrible layout - upon opening the door is the bed, bathroom was next to the window further in, which overlook into private residence parking/backyard etc - no scenic view. Since the bed was very near the door with little sound proofing, can hear people walking in the corridors, closing doors throughout the night. The hotel is located next to a scenic riverbank which is great for evening stroll after dinner. The sundry shop across the road, directly opposite the hotel front sells dried food stuff, Yongchun lacquered basket (aka bakul siah in Malay), altar display cloth etc. The elderly grandma that serves me was very warm & prices quoted was much much lower than...
