悦华酒店 — Hotel in Quanzhou

Also know as Quanzhou C&D Hotel, one of the few 5 stars hotel in the city of Quanzhou. The location was convenient, hotel amenities were 5 stars indeed, services was friendly and efficient. The room size ok, very clean and with everything you will expect from a good 5 stars hotel. Now, the FRUSTRATING PART OF THE WHOLE STAYED: VERY UNCOMFORTABLE ROOM TEMPERATURE! Even at this time of the year temperature was high just like summer. The centralized air conditioning for the rooms was set at 23 degrees Celsius, even if you lowered you room temperature setting to 16 degrees it won't go any lower than 23. If you are comfortable with it then no problem, but I'm not. I like my room temperature at 20 degrees Celsius. Even they change my room and gave me a noisy electric cooler, room temperature won't go down. That 3 degrees made the whole difference from a very comfortable hotel experience to a very bad night as I can't sleep. Actually most Chinese brand hotel even its 4 or 5 stars got this kind of problem, room temperature set too high in hot weather condition and set too low during winter just to save on electricity. Will I come back, a big NO! With my experience in China, if you want good 4 or 5 stars hotel, Marriott the best, if not better stay at...

The room, service, cleanliness, location, breakfast etc… all okay from my experience and would be satisfied enough to come and stay again. Highlights are the gym and swimming pool. However, the management should reconsider how sometimes their staff approaches their guests. 1. On my second night my wife joined me, but I forgot I only had 1 breakfast on my room(my bad). Going for breakfast next morning, we walked through the “checkpoint”, they checked my reservation and nobody raised any issues. Until we separated to grab some dishes. My wife was approached by the staff and was told “Sorry, your husband only bought one breakfast” ?!?!?!?!2. Letting the hotel staff following the guests with papers to write feedback about their service while having breakfast is not the best idea in my opinion.
