Hyatt Regency Sanya Tianli Bay — Hotel in Sanya City

I would like to start with disadvantages: 1. The pool was closed to renovation the whole time I stayed (9 days). As a compensation they gave me 100 RMB voucher for restaurant. So basically just one sandwich. 2. They forbid swimming in the sea. I choose this hotel exactly for the private beach. But why do I need beach if I cannot swim there. The baywatcher always yelled at me even if I went to the sea to the level of my hips. It was very disappointing.Now to the advantages: 1. The hotel gave me english-speaking manager Sanjita, very nice girl who helped me with any issues I had. I am very thankful to her. 2. The location is perfect for me, very far away from noisy and crowded places. The next bus stop is a beautiful park "At the world's end". Note that there are plenty of activities! So you can go back there regularly. 3. Cool breakfast with anything you can imagine. 4. The hotel provided me two gifts: one is a round trip to Duty Free Mall (NOTE: the prices are not duty free! There is a plenty of shops, but the prices are average or higher than in any other Mall). And the second one is a "free photoshoot", and yes, it is free if you choose only 5 photos. BUT! They retouch ALL of your photos. And suggest you to keep only 5 for free. Otherwise it's 80 RMB per photo. 5. The * delivery is automated, you don't need to search for your delivery guy - they send you a code for the delivery locker and you pick up your delivery any time. 6. Overall statement 5* , but why?

Airport distance (5*) - great. By taxi 15 minutes max. Could be walked even. Will take around 45 minutes.

Staff (5*) - friendly, helpful and speaking both languages - Chinese and English

rooms (5*) spaces and brand new with big balconies

weather (5*) tropical, wonderful

pool (5*) clean and warm BUT never travel on holiday time. otherwise it will be way too small for all the people

ocean (2*) - ocean is totally fine, great but swimming not allowed. never saw such nonsense just. go to the public, great beach just 3km away. 25 km beach awaiting you. for the hotel, they have to review their nonsense policy. i know the reason well why they did, but the foreigners who grew up with getting angry and will force money in return for their stay. just a matter of time. even the staff for security is not really able to swim and perform on top niveau....so they will never agree to let you swim on the hotel beach.

fitness (5*) - clean, cool, enough room to train

massage (5*) - expensive but great

parking (5*) - enough space on the underground

laundry service (2*) - wow, really really expensive. why just don't put a few machines on the floor and people can do that themselves? in all our other hotels was / is possible.

loudness (4*) - except the noise of the airplanes it was quiet despite all the playing people in the pool.

The hotel is new with well fitted rooms and facilities but with a few disappointments for us; 1.The pool bar only serves a selection of 4 soft drinks with a QR code ordering system that serves soft drinks and food during the day but alcohol only after 17:00. If you want to chill by the pool with a cocktail, get ready for a walk up to the lounge! 2.The beach is “ok” BUT isn’t part of the hotel and doesn’t have a lifeguard (there’s a sign saying “public beach” at the entrance). 3. Finally, the hotel is right on the flight path to Sanya airport and you feel like you can reach out and touch the planes as they come into land. There’s a few things that really made up for the shortcomings for us though;1. The staff - extremely friendly, helpful and dedicated to helping fix issues for you2. The Lounge - a great place to relax and have a cocktail (too far from the pool to dip in / out) and serving good food from the restaurant menu3. The breakfast was great but the coffee machine was broken but no one seemed to notice but us (cold milk)4.
