Atour Hotel Pudong Airport — Hotel in Shanghai

I thought it was a great hotel. Very clean, very comfortable, staff was very polite, breakfast was good, free airport shuttle service is convenient. There were a few restaurants next door, and a basic mall within walking distance. It was in the middle of nowhere: the closest metro station is quite a distance away, and a taxi to downtown Shanghai will take 1 hr and cost about 200 RMB (300 RMB during premium rate hours). If you are just looking for a place to sleep for an overnight transit at PVG, this is a great option. If you are looking to tour the city, probably not so much. The staff's English ability is very limited, so if you cannot speak Chinese, things may still work fine, but you will need to be very patient with them. A very positive experience, I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone who needs hotel stays near Pudong airport. This hotel has an outdoor backyard, which is a huge bonus for us traveling with a 4-year-old. I could easily move our 2 beds together to make it a huge bed, to make it extra comfy for myself and my son. All staff, from front desk, to dining room, to room services, were very friendly and responsive. Oh, talking about breakfast, yummy food with a wide variety of options. I also love the shower head lol. Makes it easy to shower my 4yo son. You’ll know what I’m talking about once you tried it out. Though this hotel is very busy with lots of guests come and go, we felt seen.They also have free laundry room and gym on site....

From the outside this did not look impressive but once in the foyer it was clear this is a nice hotel. My room was very spacious with a lovely view of the garden courtyard area that you can walk in. There is a lovely water feature in there in a peaceful setting.|No one speaks English and I can't speak Chinese but my daughter in law helped with a few translations needed.|Breakfast was the only downside for me with strange food choices for a European and a few dead fish floating in fish tanks in the breakfast area - that was not a good look.|The free shuttle bus service soon had me on my way to the airport and the long bone crusher of a flight...
