Holiday Inn Express Shanghai Hongqiao North — Hotel in Shanghai

Stayed here since planned to take early morning train from Hongqiao Train Station. Due to bad weather my train was cancelled but I forgot to advise Cindy at reception who had thoughtfully arranged an early taxi for me. Well, this morning Cindy texts me to advise that car was here, but, of course, I did not need the car any more. I explained and apologized and then she advises that she had sent a take-along breakfast (bread, yogurt, egg, banana) to my room via a robot since my departure was to be before breakfast. What great service from Cindy!! Her attention was greatly appreciated. Normally I would not stay here in this area since my business is far away in New Pudong, but wanted to be closer to train station. This is an awful place to stay. They give me a room on the third floor and once get in the room has a strange smell like draining pipes were open. Ityey changed the room but did not ask or say we will check. The staff is really unuseful. I went to the laundry corner and they place a sticker for pay the service. The machine was not working i called The staff and they say you do not need to pay and when I asked why then there is a stickers saying we have to pay?
