Holiday Inn Express Shanghai Meilong — Hotel in Shanghai

this is like the worst hotel i've stayed in for a while.... first the location is like the chinese say "where the birds lay no eggs and where the dogs don't s*!". it takes you like 44 minutes to call a cab, closest metro station is 15 minutes ride away. breakfast is disgusting, only chinese stuff, coffee is average (maybe better go to that empty starbucks nearby). staff is friendly but totally unable to do anything right because of incompetent chinese management, 3 person at the reception in the morning, one is working the other two just standing by and watching (don't know why)... bed is hard like stone, shower only with dripping water, no power, had to renew room card at least 5 times during a 7 night stay, laundry room useless because they had no coin... this hotel is simply a waste of land space and money. and like in almost EVERY (male) public restroom in china the public restrooms in this hotel are so disgusting... i think CDC or WHO might have to shut down this area and declare it a bio hazardous area for the next billion years... tear this hotel down and leave the area empty... it's probably better and...

It is an ok hotel for business traveler, the room is clean, although there was a pair of dirty socks inside the bedstand, I stayed in the same room for 6 nights, the room get clean every day, but that pair of socks was there still, never been moved, I guess the housekeeper think that is mine ? too bad, it was there since I arrive. Bathroom is clean, TV has trouble showing English channel, air-conditioner is central controlled, can't really adjust it from your own room. Breakfast is ok. Wish there were more selection on the coffee types.||The good thing is the location is quite convenient, there is a plaza right next to the hotel, so there are many other choices of dinning. there is also a starbucks in the plaza, Watson's, mini mart.||The other thing is, I put "Do not disturb" outside of my door, but my room still got cleaned, therefore, on the 3rd day, I just give up to put the "Do not disturb" sign...

This hotel is very far from aynthing interesting. A problem is that it is on Yindu Road and you coukd think that it is convenient to reach the Yindu Road subway startion from the hotel. But it is not! The Yindu Road is East-West and cut by a North South freeway. So there are actually two dead ends on each side. Therefore no taxis or buses going to the subway station. There are lots of constructions around the hotel. The hotel itself is so-so, The elevator supposed to work with your key does not always work. We were several customers to have problems with the elevator, The room is OK but not great. No mini-bar, The breakfast is OK but not great. Internet...
