Holiday Inn Express Shanghai Tangzhen — Hotel in Shanghai

Hotel was excellent, and a reasonable price. Perfect for our short stay in Shanghai. Breakfast was excellent with a variety of both Chinese and Western dishes, and also freshly made eggs and also noodles to order. Much higher quality than a standard Holiday Inn Express, and you even see the robot staff there too. Concierge staff were friendly and helpful. Some don't speak much English but they have a professional voice translator app they use so it worked perfectly (we found many locals in Shanghai don't speak English). As platinum members, we were automatically upgraded. Room was great, spacious, very clean and looked new. Lots of seating. Walk in shower was nice. Beds are firm, which my research told me that is the standard in China like in many countries. Also, my research told me that it is the norm for locals to smoke in the rooms even if it is a non-smoking room so if your non-smoking room smells like smoke a little, it's not the hotel's fault.||||Convenient location if you don't want to spend a lot on hotels near The Bund. It is a few minutes walk from the metro (take Green Line 2 from Pudong Airport straight to Tangzhen station), turn right from the station and walk straight down that road for a few minutes (don't cross the road) over the walking bridge - you should see the blue and yellow lights of the tall hotel building at night. Right outside the station is an outside plaza with lots of stores and connivence stores to pick up water and snacks. Had an enjoyable stay! Hotel room is clean with daily room cleaning service, very spacious too! Had a lot of space for my luggage. Hotel serves breakfasts every morning, selection and variety is pretty good for a business hotel. The hotel is about 5-7 mins walk to Tangzhen station. It does take a bit of time to travel to town area like nanjing rd, the bund and all that, around 45mins-1hour depending on where you are going to. Around the station there’s macdonalds and family mart convenience store where you can get some food before heading back to hotel. There’s a mini mall there of sorts, didn’t manage to explore but definitely enough to not starve during your time there! Hotel provides shuttle service to Disneyland which makes it really convenient for Disneyland lovers. But you have to take your own transport back. Transport via train back from Disneyland takes about up to an hour with 3 transfers, but it’s definitely doable. The train station also directly leads you to Pudong international airport, but I think it’s more convenient to take a DiDi from the hotel to the airport or vice versa, costed me around 100yuan and took about 30mins, which is pretty alright! Nearby the hotel also have got a huge Decathalon for cheap and good sports wear, unfortunately I didn’t have enough time to shop there! I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Shanghai Tangzhen for two nights during my business trip to Shanghai. The hotel is located in Pudong New Area, close to Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park and Shanghai Disneyland. It was easy to get to the hotel from Shanghai Pudong International Airport, which is about 20 kilometers away. The hotel offers free parking and free WiFi for guests.The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a flat-screen TV, a kettle, a hairdryer and a private bathroom. The bed was cozy and I had a choice of pillows. The air conditioning worked well and the room was quiet. The hotel also has an audio system and an international door lock system for security.The staff was friendly, helpful and professional. They spoke good English and were able to assist me with my needs. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and fast. The hotel also has a 24-hour front desk, a room service and a baggage storage.The breakfast buffet was delicious and varied, with both Chinese and Western options. The restaurant was clean and spacious, with a nice view of the city.
