Holiday Inn Shanghai Songjiang — Hotel in Shanghai

1st time travelled to Shanghai for business visit here in Songjiang.||Good locatuon access to Starbucks Coffee at Walmart, FamilyMart store.||2 mins walk to KFC and McDonald fast food.||Walking down further, there is a street by the name of Miaoqian St. Here you will find many outlets selling street food.||I stayed in a deluxe king room for a week. The room amenities are good. ||Traveller from abroad like me find it convenient.||Laundry is very efficient so far. ||Electrical outlet sockets in the room cater for all varieties of plug system from all over the world.||The downside of the hotel |1. Internet speed are slow and access to google and other international websites are limited.||2. The hotel air conditioner require improvement as turning it on running at lower temperature but the room is still hot. Needs to rely on a portable cooler fan and open the window to chill the room. Spoke to the reception and they could only offer a portable fan. This place used to be great, but it has been on the decline.

The furniture has reached the end of its useful life and needs to be replaced. The desks are covered in scratches and the chairs have stains. Some of the furniture has exposed plywood. In the suites, there is no outlet available near the desk.

The minibars are no longer stocked. Instead, there is a card with the room service menu.

The room service is also on the decline. It is now open 23 hours a day; don't arrive between 10pm and 11pm or you will have to wait to order food.

Don't use the room service hangcards to order breakfast. They are not always collected overnight. One time, the room phone was also broken, so I had to go down to the front desk to order breakfast.

The HVAC rarely works well. Rooms are always too hot or too cold, regardless of the thermostat settings. I frequently need to open my window in the winter due to the excessive heat.

The hotel still has some nice things about it. The breakfast buffet is decent. The location is convenient to the factories in Songjiang. The staff speaks decent English, even on the...

Rooms and beds are good, the young staff at the front desk are not service-oriented and serious enough though. They regularly make fun of customers when they leave the counter. The bar at the lobby is good and service we received excellent! Although we can't say the same for the "All day dinner restaurant" at the 2nd floor. After welcomed they leave you sitting and waiting. Even after 20 minutes no one came to take our order and drinks, despite of enough personnel being around and only a few table's occupied. They were to busy with their phones or other colleagues. Breakfast buffet was good and enough to choose from. But the same issue here, personnel get together to chat with each other.
