I had an international science workshop at Tongji University, and they put up the speakers here. It's very close to the Tongji University metro station, and convenient to a number of restaurants. The rooms are generous and comfortable (especially on the Executive Floor where they put me!) and they have both good amenities and an unusual approach to conservation (toiletries are all in sustainable packaging, which I'd never seen before...). The hotel bar is typically (for China) expensive, so I wouldn't want to have beers there, though it would be comfortable; and the coffee shop where they serve breakfast and lunch offers a very generous buffet service for both. My only substantive gripe with the place is a workout space that is rather hot and not terribly well-maintained. Another point to be aware of is that, like much of China, the air conditioning is on the weak side - so much so for my top-floor room that the cleaning staff stuck a keycard in the turn-everything-on slot in the room to keep the AC running so the room would stay clement (there was a heatwave in Shanghai during my visit!). Otherwise (and at other times of the year) I'd for sure...
Read moreI stayed in the hotel for 3 nights in April 2018. My room was 1016, with a good view towards the direction of Shanghai tower. The room was big and clean. Both check-in and check-out were fast and easy.||||The Taxi ride from Putong Airport to the Hotel is around 45 mins. It is located beside TongJi University and is just 2 mins walk to TongJi Station. There are many food outlets and restaurants nearby. We had our dinner at the Xi'an restaurant behind the hotel. The food and services were good. ||||If you want to do a some shopping or walking at night, you can take a subway, 2 stations towards north to Wujiaochang station, or few stations towards south to Nanjing East Road or Yu Yuan.||||Do note there aren’t any Currency Exchange nearby. Those banks near the Hotel do not accept foreign currency exchange. The nearest Bank of China is around...
Read moreI stayed here for & week on business trip. In terms of location, this hotel is excellently located at only 2 minutes walk from Metro Line 10 that takes you directly into the touristy areas like East Nanjing Road, Yuyuan garden, Xintiandi etc. Around there are lots of eateries and even a Starbucks and McDonald's. A couple of banks if you want to withdraw money so everything is handy. Breakfast was decent. The front desk staff were quite helpful and friendly. Compared to other hotels, I would say that it is very decent and not as expensive so I would stay at this hotel again. The only reason why I accord only 4 stars is because it has very poor wifi connection. I get cut off all the time and it was a nightmare when you need to read and respond to...
