Lotel Hotel — Hotel in Shanghai

This hotel was spotless !||The cleanest of all the 4 we've been during this tour in China.||The room rates are also quite affordable making the deal even sweeter.||||Yes, the rooms were indeed not as big as in the other Hotels we've been in China (as other reviewers have already mentioned) but still not as small as they usually are in Europe and I definitely prefer super clean rooms than large ones..||||Like our other hotels they had all the wished amenities, from slippers to even tooth brush and tooth paste (which are not that elsewhere).||||And the breakfast was really excellent, Chinese dishes and Western food altogether for you to choose.||||Oh, almost forgotten, there were beautiful peacocks in the Hotel grounds ... ||||Only problem though, the Hotel location.||In my other reviews I have often mentioned the location issue: I don't really mind if the Hotel is far from the center as long as there is something, anything, to do near the hotel.||Near this one however there was ...Nothing !||||So unless you have a car , which is unlikely, unless you're with a group (and a coach or any other mean of transportation) I would not recommend staying there.||||Of course you would count on a cab to take you wherever you want.||This does work when you leave the Hotel.||However getting back to the hotel is where the problem begins and unfortunately also ends.||In Beijing we had all the difficulties in the World to get back to the Lido Hotel from Sanlitun because the rare free cabs we found ... refused to take us...||So it may be risky to get far from your Hotel, not mentioning that you don't speak Chinese ...||||Bottom line a really good hotel deserving a 5* but far from everything and therefore requiring a reliable mean of...

I was there for business trip and spent a night in this hotel. This hotel is located quite faraway from metro station, not many restaurants around, but that is not a good concern for me because I just need to fill up my stomach and I am good with it. The room is a little small but quiet with wifi, but definitely worth the money, especially with breakfast included. Breakfast was surprisingly good, at least it was better than my expectation. But it was hard to find a taxi, I would suggest people to take at least 30mins...

It's not in the most convenient location but the quality of this hotel makes up for it. It's the cleanest hotel I've stayed in in mainland china! Amazing deal as well! I stayed for 26 days in the loft studio, duplexed room. Fantastic! Quiet, very responsive staff! Food at the lemon cafe was delicious! You could pick western or Chinese food.
