Novotel Suites Shanghai Hongqiao Hotel — Hotel in Shanghai

This hotel is great for its spacious duplex room for my family of 4.Had a great check in experience with the front counter as they had assisted me with promptly with advice to get a good breakfast deal for my 3 night's stay. Service was prompt whenever I requested for extra towels. Disappointed with the cleanliness of the floor as it felt dusty upon entering. I did a mop using the floor towel and it was all black. Gym and swimming pool was also closed during my stay from 25- 28 Dec 2024, citing reason which was new to me. Supermarket is located within the hotel enclosure and marketing is a breeze, however no utensils or extra cups (standard 2 provided) are available in the room, which is inconvenient.There is a small stretch of F&B outlets and very limited shopping a very short walk away which helps if I need a quick fix. We booked a Superior suite and they upgraded us to an executive suite 100 sq m. The small room downstairs had a single sofa bed and the bathroom downstairs also had a shower. Upstairs was an en-suite with a King size bed. We just loved it. Excellent location, very near Hongqiao airport, train station & Convention Centre. Walkable distance to Lidoway, with lots of restaurants and a playground for the kids to play. Also very near to Panlong Tiandi, a 700 year old town transformed into a 21st century hub of activity. Great hotel very near NECC. It's literally a 5 - to 10-minute car ride from the National Exhibition building. The suites are loft style, so if you have a problem with stairs this may not be the place for you. However, they are very well appointed with all the modern conveniences and plenty of room to work.
