I may not choose this hotel for visiting Shanghai, but it is a perfect place for my business. The hotel is quite remote from the city centre, which is very inconvenient to travel back and forth. However, it is fully equipped for business purposes.||I was staying at Pullman Qingpu to visit the National Exhibition and Convention Centre everyday. There were no 5 stars Accor hotel in Shanghai has a good deal, but this hotel offered a decent price tag at 498 Yuan per night. As a result, I was traveling from Pullman Qingpu to NECC everyday by train, which took me 30 to 40 minutes 1 way by riding a Didi to Caoying Road and board the Shanghai Metro line 17. It was such a steal to have this price although the travel time was long.||Upon arrival, the check-in procedure was smooth at 11pm. I booked 2 lowest category rooms, but got upgraded by 3 categories and ended up getting an executive room for both. The room was spacious, and it has a decent view to the nearby buildings and a river. However, there were no explanations of benefits as a Platinum member, but basically I got a free breakfast, free lounge access on the 22nd floor, free room upgrade, and 2 welcome drink vouchers. The lounge opened from 12pm until 11pm, but they served afternoon tea from 3pm to 5pm and dinner from 6pm to 8h30pm. ||One of the thing that I love was the food and service in the executive lounge. Lucy and Ivy were always happy to assist me and serving beverages throughout the day, although they were unable to properly communicate in English, but a translator had done all the work! Once I lost my bag and need to find it, Lucy helped me to find it in the lounge. The food was top-notch, and I particularly loved their Chinese sweet soups because it was lightly sweet and refreshing. Fruits like cantaloupe was a must-try. The food was served in a buffet, so I can had it as my dinner. ||However, I think there are some improvements that the hotel may consider for a better experiences. Firstly, the AC in the room was hot. I put on 15 degree C, but it felt more like 27 degree C. The weather was cold when I visit, but it may be a huge drawback during the hot seasons like summer. Secondly, when I had lunch at Azur, my Accor Plus 50% discount for 2 people was not recognised. I had to show all the informations online from Accor Plus, which was so unusual. They must had trained the servers to know most of the benefits within the hotel's loyalty program. Thirdly, the cutlery set-up for breakfast was unusual during the weekday. There were only a spoon and a chopstick. There was no self-service of getting a cutlery like a fork and knife, making the experience of eating pastries went wrong. I was unable to cut my sandwich, and I had to tear it! However, the full set was offered during the weekends, so I don't know why?||But overall, this is a great hotel for business in Shanghai, especially the west side of Shanghai. There is a nearby Novotel, so maybe I will going there next to see are there any major...
Read moreMaybe the worst Accor Hotel I have evet stayed! I stayed here 2 times in total 2 weeks. I stayed on both times in a Deluxe King Room. I need to tell that I’m also a Gold Member in Accor Group.
First of all rooms are old fashioned and the isolation is too bad, so you hear everything happening around you. Doors of the room and wardrobe are not closing properly. Windows are always very dirty so there is no joy to view outside.
However the worst thing about this hotel is its service. If you cannot speak Chinese then good luck because it is even almost impossible to understand the staff with a translator. They are even not able to speak Chinese so the translator app can properly translate into English! Some nights the rooms around me was tooo noisy that I couldn’t even sleep. I called the front desk maybe 10 times, they came to check but no one cared about them. So I gave up.
I gave them some clothes for laundry. What a mistake! There is no laundry bag or form in the room. So you have to go to the front desk. Every single time they search for the form more than 10 min. They basically don’t want to give any form I believe since if they lose your clothes they can say they have no idea. I insisted for the form however and on the form it is written if you give your clothes till 12am you will get them by 6pm on the same day. I needed to check out the day after and gave them my clothes at 9am in the morning. In the evening they told me that they will bring my clothes to my room but image what happened. They just closed the laundry and went home! I needed to explain my situation to 5 different persons and in the end i had to speak to the manager who was able to speak barely English. Imagine this hotel classifies itself as “luxury hotel”! I will never ever stay there and if I cannot get a proper answer from Accor as well, I will cancel my subscription with them. It’s a shame they charge money for this non...
Read moreI am a sliver member and should have benefit for early check-in and late check-out. When I arrived around 3pm at check-in date, the receptions tell me the room is unavailable so I have to wait 1 hour. Also, at the day I’m going to leave, as I need to work till 1pm, so I was going to use my benefit to check-out at 2pm, which communicate with they one day before, but they tell me that I CANNOT, the RIDICULOUS reason is they will have a lot of guest coming so they need extra time to clean the room, so they will take my luggage out around the normal time. How could that happened? I am very angry about that but the reception just told me ‘that’s what will happened, we are sorry’. BUT, if so, why I can’t get my room immediately when check-in? I can understand if they treat everyone like that but why that only happened to me? Late check-in and early check-out? Just because I am young or my face looks like too kind and too easy going? I just feel upset that I even cannot get my normal benefit, then why I need to keep...
