Radisson Blu Hotel, Shanghai Pudong Jinqiao — Hotel in Shanghai

Although this is a five star hotel, it's not a nice place to stay. The problem is that the rooms get incredibly hot, and the openable part of the window is so tiny that you just can't get any amount of cool air from outside. In any normal five star hotel you would simply turn on the air conditioning.||There is a controller on the wall of the room, and a ventilation duct that looks like it controls the air conditioning. But in fact it doesn't. The air conditioning is managed centrally, and according to staff at reception, the air conditioning is simply switched off in Autumn when the weather starts to get cooler. There does not seem to be any way to get cool air into the building. Any small bit of sun shining through the window, or any electrical items such as the fridge can drive the temperature from unpleasantly hot to absolutely unbearable. It is extremely difficult to sleep in this intense heat, and I got an average of less than two hours' sleep per night.||I spoke to the staff at reception about this, and they sent an engineer to investigate the room. But of course the engineer already knows the problem. The rooms cannot be cooled. But with a hotel policy of managing the air conditioning centrally, and disabling it in Autumn, there is absolutely nothing that he or the other staff can do.||I know that other guests also complained about the extreme heat in their hotel rooms, but for the staff I guess it was just another day of guest complaints that they are...

I stayed here for a school athletics trip with my 2 teenage kids. The staff were all very helpful and kind. The breakfast buffet is amazing and worth paying extra for if it is not included in your room rate. The shower was wonderful, love the rain showerhead and great water pressure. The only negative for me was the in-room hair dryers. I was very happy that the hotel provided a hair dryer (pretty standard, but I appreciate it) however, the hair dryer provided was one step above useless. It had a US plug that barely stayed plugged into the provided electrical socket so it constantly cut off because it wasn't securely plugged in. It also had the button that you have to constantly hold down in order for the dryer to work - always annoying at best, but when it is also cutting on and off depending on the plug situation it was VERY FRUSTRATING. Impossible to actually style your hair with this dryer and it just left our hair frizzy and horrible. I understand that very few hotels actually provide decent hair dryers but this was a truly miserable experience each day trying to dry my hair. So....if you don't require a good, working hair dryer, this is the hotel for you. Everything else was just wonderful with our stay. I appreciated the staff taking such great care of our students and coaches. Also, we appreciated the Carrefour market and little mall with food options next to the hotel. Not meet to my expectations, overrated hotel.First Front Office checked in guest service dated 22/4/2024 can be better, eventhough checked in during 3am in view of delayed flight from Sanya. |During 22/4 2.20pm checked out there was no farewell greeting what so even , COLD .|Guest room was NOT WELL MAINTAINED AND MONITORED below standard , I noticed the wall paper got defect stained near window, window curtains not functioning well,WAREDRO CLOSAGE WITH FALLEN APART LED LIGHT BELT a ran down OVERRATED LACK of SUPERVISION property especially room. BATHTUB MARBLE DEFECTS TOO. |F&B service are good from Chinese Restaurant via IRD around 1.30pm , telephone answeing are professional food quality good delivered with recommendations from Chinese restaurant 👍👍👍👍👍. |Instead of Radissons Blu Pudong 高级房大床含单paid via wechat for |CNY 890 per night , I can have a better quality experience from IHG Group Indigo Pudong.
