I stayed here for just over 3 weeks while completing research at SJTU, and had a fabulous experience! My room was very spacious and very comfortable, and the hotel had all the amenities I was hoping for in a long-term stay. Free laundry, a fitness room, a mini fridge, stable WiFi, etc. I also loved the breakfast selection - I looked forward to my yogurt with dragonfruit every morning! The staff were all very professional, nice and accommodating, which I deeply appreciated because it’s stressful being a foreigner with limited Mandarin abilities in Shanghai. The vast majority of hotels in China are not even permitted to host foreign guests due to government restrictions. The SSAW staff welcomed me, helped me extend my reservation, and helped me with paperwork for my Chinese business Visa. The location was a bit challenging at first, because the closest subway station is around a 20 minute walk. But once I was able to access the ** app, I could bike everywhere easily, which I loved. Also, just a minute walk away is Aini Bayi, a conglomeration of Xinjiang restaurants and a bakery, which were all great. There are also a variety of convenience stores and snack shops within walking distance, as well as ATMs and a post office. Great experience overall, I would stay here again if I return...
Read moreI found this hotel is a cheap copy of its sister Hotel at the Bund where i stayed before. The staff does not speak any english at all i had constant issue communicating Problems with the room, the heating fan was broken making an utmost annoying rattling sound after 2 days i gave up as their maintenance did jot bother. The wifi is extremely poor and impossible to connect at times making working from the room a nightmare. The so called gym is a joke small dirty and outdate . Overall not worth the price and i recommend to think twice before staying here the area i found has nothing to offer and taxis coming back from the city often cant...
Read moreWe were on a tour of China and our tour operator chose this hotel in Shanghai for the last three nights. There was not enough storage space in wardrobes to hang clothes and no drawer space. There was a huge bath in the bedroom under the window and that space would have been better utilised for storage space. Nice bathroom, very comfortable bed and very clean. Our room was cleaned and towels were changed but for two days our bed wasn't made. First time we have ever experienced this in a hotel. The hotel was out of the way and you had to use the subway or taxi to get into the centre of Shanghai. The subway closed at 10pm so you would have to use a taxi if you wanted to get back to the hotel after that time. The hotel bar, which we never found, closed at 9.30pm. Buffet breakfast was average. Reception staff...
