JUST WANT TO SHARE AND IN MY OPINION THIS IS REALLY FOOD SAFTEY RISK THAT WE ARE WITNESSING.||MY WIFE AND I STAY AT THE HOTEL DURING OUR RECENT VACATION TO SHANTOU CITY. OVERALL THE HOTEL WAS REALLY NICE. BUT TO OUR SURPRISE, WE WITNESS THIS HAPPENING ON THE LAST DAY OF OUR STAY DURING THE EARLY BREAKFAST TIME.||WE OPTED TO HAVE AN EARLY BREAKFAST RIGHT AT 6.30AM (HOTEL BREAKFAST CAFE OFFICIAL OPENING TIME) AS WE WERE LEAVING THAT MORNING FOR GUANGZHOU CITY. ||SOMEHOW, THERE SEEM TO BE LIMITED STAFF AROUND RIGHT AT THAT TIMING....MAYBE THEY ARE ON THE WAY DESPITE HAVING SUCH OFFICIAL OPENING TIME OF 6.30AM.||MY WIFE TOOK HER USUAL "INGREDIENTS AND NODDLE" IN A BOWL AND NORMALLY A CHEF WILL BE ON SERVICE TO TAKE IT OVER FOR THE COOKING (SOUPING)...BUT AS THERE AREN'T ANY CHEF AROUND, SHE CAN ONLY PLACE HER BOWL ON THE CHEF TABLE FOR Q AND THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER IN Q NOW. ||THEN A WHILE LATER, A MAN WHO WE BELIEVED IN HIS OWN CLOTHING (JACKET OVERALL, NOT THE USUAL CHEF SUIT) CAME TO THE CHEF WORKING SECTION AND STARTED TO COOK.||WE WERE PRETTY STUNT AND SHOCK AT THAT MOMENT. WE STARTED WONDERING WHAT WE SHOULD DO NEXT. OK, OUR GUESS IS HE COULD BE THE CHEF IN CHARGE, HE OR HIS SECTION IS LATE FOR WORK, HE IS TRYING HARD TO CLEAR THE Q OF "BOWLS OF INGREDIENTS AND NODDLES" AWAITING FOR COOKING. HE IS BEING NICE TRYING TO CLEAR THE Q !||WE HAVE JUST GOT OVER THE PANDEMIC. FOOD SAFETY FACTOR NEED TO BE STRICTLY EMBRACED AND ENSURED FOR CUSTOMERS. HIS INTENTION IS GOOD BUT HE GOT TO STRICTLY CONFORMED TO THE SOP....I AM ASSUMING IT IS A MUST TO BE IN HIS CHEF WORK ATTIRE BEFORE COMING INTO THE CHEF COOKING FACILITY TO UPHOLD THIS MOST IMPORTANT UPMOST IMPORTANT CRITERIA OF FOOD SAFETY!||WE TRIED HARD TO FEEDBACK TO THE CAFE MANAGER, MR HE. BUT SAD TO SHARE, HE WAS NOT VERY APPROACHABLE. HE DID NOT REALLY WANT TO LISTEN. AS WE WERE SPEAKING TO HIM, HIS BODY LANGUAGE OF GRADUALLY DISTANCING AWAY FROM US AND WAS ONLY ASSURING US HE WILL BE LOOK INTO THE MATTER LATER TELL US HE WASN'T KEEN WITH THE TOPIC. AM NOT TOO SURE HOW I CAN ILLUSTRATE THAT MORNING HAPPENING BUT NEVERTHELESS MY INTENTION IS REALLY TO SHARE THIS IMPORTANT CONCERN ON FOOD SAFETY HAZARD RISKS TO EVERYONE FOR AWARENESS, ATTENTION AND SHARING.||BEING A BONVOY LOYALIST , IT WAS RATHER DISAPPOINTING TO SEE THIS HAPPENING AT A MARRIOTT FACILITY. HERE WE ARE TALKING ABOUT A 5 STARS FACILITY ! SUCH HAPPENING SHOULD NOT BE OCCURRING !||WE NEED TO UPHOLD FOOD SAFETY TO THE BEST EVER LEVEL IN A HOTEL FACILITY. Read moreI rarely comment on a hotel, although I have experienced many. But this Sheraton hotel in Shantou, Guangdong is really worth praise. It is a brand new hotel, at its soft launch stage. So it would be natural to have a low expectation. But my experience there, on my first stay, truly amazed me. There is no need to say much about hardware - although all new Sheraton in China are enjoying shining hardware, this hotel far exceeds any other Sheraton that I have lived in - and there are many of them. The room is not necessarily bigger, but it is equipped with more comfortable desk, chair, sofa, and even bed. Curtains are automatic. Tea kit is great. In every detail, you can see more attention, more efforts were paid to achieve a higher standard. But what amazed me the most is their service. Upon check in, they not only recognized me, but could cite more details about my preference, including my preferred fruit. I know they got it from my database stored in SPG, but no other SPG hotels, even those I have stayed over ten times, or even those charging exortic prices, paid attention to that information. And what's more, they have even adjusted the contents of the fruit plate in my room according to my preference! This is examplary service at its highest level. Well, there is no 100% perfection, even in this hotel. Out of installation ignorance or design flaw, the power outlet in the dressing room had been totally unusable - being partially covered by the safe - solid, steely, and unmovable. The result? She kindly upgraded my stay to the Sheraton Club level and took the time to answer several of my questions regarding local attractions and recommended dining options. Additionally, she helped update the details of my Marriott Bonvoy membership, which I greatly appreciated.
I also had the pleasure of receiving outstanding service from Concierge Harry Shen when I inquired about purchasing a travel lock. He was extremely helpful and patient, going as far as searching online for options. He assured me he would have one ready by the following morning, demonstrating genuine dedication to guest satisfaction.
The room was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located within walking distance of major shopping malls and popular restaurants. I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional hospitality and friendliness of the staff. It is professionals like Tanya and Harry who truly elevate the guest experience.
