Swissotel Shenyang — Hotel in Shenyang City

Everything was actually very good except for the temperature of the room. The staff was friendly (especially the housekeeping staff) and professional, and the room was clean (except for one long hair that emerged from the corner behind the bathtub). We were traveling with our preschooler and infant. The bed was large enough for two adults and the preschooler, and the hotel provided a crib for the infant.||The issue we had was that the room was too hot. I tried turning on the air conditioner, but the room just got warmer and warmer. After a call to the front desk, we were told that the A/C was turned off during the winter. Housekeeping came and showed us how to open the vent near the window to get some cold air from outside. The problem then was the air pollution which was well over 200 AQI most of which was PM 2.5. This was made worse by the busy street right in front of our room. We closed the vent overnight, but the room became too hot again, and the air was very dry. We all woke up coughing in the morning. While we were provided with extra bottles of water, I would have much rather been able to control the temperature of the room.||We paid a bit extra for a room that faces the lake. Swissôtel Shenyang is the most recommendable hotel I’ve stayed at in China so far. Its location is excellent—from the airport, you can reach the hotel directly by subway in about 50 minutes without any transfers. Even if you have a suitcase, you can use the elevator to get to the subway and travel safely and comfortably all the way to the hotel, so I highly recommend it.|Eric, the concierge manager, is the nicest and best concierge I’ve ever met. Of course, all the hotel staff are friendly and helpful. This is a great hotel, and everyone is very friendly to me and my friends. The lobby is spacious, with a Christmas atmosphere and decorations. The restaurant has band performances and delicious food.
