I selected a room at this hotel based on its description on the internet, which showed a picture and described room amenities in detail. I have arthritis and was looking for a hotel that featured jacuzzi/whirlpool tubs in the rooms, as I have booked such hotel rooms in other countries. However, I know in China, it pays to double check. So I called the hotel and requested assistance in English, and described the room I wanted to book. I mentioned that I wanted a jacuzzi room multiple times, and was told it would not be a problem. Sure enough, when I got to the hotel, they gave me a room that was nothing like what I had requested and had no jacuzzi or whirlpool bathtub at all. The hotel staff tried to tell me that I had misunderstood the advertisement--that it only meant that I could have access to the public jacuzzi, but I showed them the picture and the description, and compared it with another deluxe room in the same hotel that did NOT claim to have a jacuzzi. So they apologized but said they didn't actually have any rooms like the ones advertised. They did not offer any discount, so I said I would stay only one night and find accommodations elsewhere the next day. I was seriously disappointed, not to mentioned physically stressed by all the confusion of the check-in process and having to go inspect multiple rooms before getting settled into one that was even close to what I had booked. Then they tried to offer me a membership package. I said, "No thanks. I won't be back to the hotel...
Read moreThis is a typical holiday style hotel found around China where the pictures will look better than the real thing. If you’ve never stayed in a five star hotel before and come from the countryside I think it’s definitely a nice place. If you’ve experienced service, attention to detail, etc, it’s just a typical disappointment but right on par with most Chinese managed hotels.||||The golf course is beautiful and the views are amazing, really nice scenery but beyond 10 mins of enjoying it you will be reminded you’re at a poorly managed place.||||Breakfast was offensively disgusting. Instant mix coffee, pink bacon, you know the drill.. again very typical trough served in locally managed hotels. I suggest bringing your own fruit or granola bar and avoiding the breakfast.||||Understand that this hotels main clientele is not international travellers - it’s families with children and girls that want to take photos. It’s an “all sizzle no steak” property and you should avoid unless you were invited to a wedding like we were.||||The property is beautiful which is why I was generous and gave two stars. Enjoyed the driving range too! Really hope I never have the misfortune of...
Read moreI first wrote a review on this hotel not long after it opened a few years ago, i have stayed 3 times a year since. I had a bad experience on my last stay last year and hoped it had improved on this but having stayed there the other week i have to say it has not got any better. I have found that the food quality and choice has greatly diminished and that the number of English speaking staff has fallen. I called the concierge for assistance with luggage but no one could understand my request not even when i was put through to the front desk. I had no choice but to struggle with my cases along a very long carpeted corridor to the lift - end result I was extremely hot and sweaty for my business meeting.||as they advertise as international I would expect a small amount of understanding especially from front of house staff. it is perfectly OK for an Asian / China hotel but do not expect the same service as you would from a well known chain.||I have found another hotel for my next trip and will not be...
