Grand Skylight International Guanlan — Hotel in Shenzhen

I stayed here for one night. When I checked in I was upgraded to a one bedroom suite. The room was big with one and half bath, walk through closet, sitting room and bedroom. Each was quite roomy and comfortable. However, the hotel needs to do some refurbishing as there were cracks and chips in the bathroom tiles (some large ones still filled in with grout), large scratches on the wood paneling, etc. ||I was also not able to get a hot shower even though I turned the faucet to the maximum. ||I received access to the executive lounge. Free beer, snacks, fruit and soft drinks. You have to pay for any mixed drinks or wine.||The annoying part of my stay was the need to pay two deposits (at different times) that exceeded the room cost. They gave a lame excuse that the first person did not charge enough (short by 100RMB) but they collected 1200RMB total. I had to make sure that they ran my credit cards to get my deposits back. My co-worker was charged incorrectly and spent awhile trying to get that resolved. They need to work on...

This hotel offers GREAT accommodation, clean and spacious room. Its a 5 STARS hotel to the local community. Breakfast is Good, with lots of varieties to choose from, Western &/ Chinese dishes. However tourism knowledge and specific ethnic special diets which require improvement to the hotel staffs if this is a "5 stars" hotel standard. - Had a bad experienced when I specifically spoke in mandarin in asking for a specific ethnic diets, and booked a taxi to bring me to that place, and it turns out to be the wrong choice of restaurant and I am stranded. - No service recovery nor an apology from the hotel concierge. Surrounding has limited eateries to choose from, and this hotel is not nearing to any MRT station. has many amenities for both western and native Chinese culture. breakfast buffet is so so but very clean. dinner has a few places to choose right in the hotel. a Japanese restaurant we just had lunch in was very good. the hotel main floor buffet was surprisingly very good. lamb chops, fresh seafood and mini hot pot all with fresh ingredients. staff is polite and helpful. entertainment building is on premises with foot massage Thai massage and KTV. overall nothing bad and that's saying a lot considering some hotels where the air conditioning makes you feel I'll very good air in this hotel too. price was very good for the space and...
