I booked to stay here 1 night with my daughter during a stopover from Chengdu back to the UK. ||Firstly I specifically booked this hotel because it said it had airport transportation and as we don't speak Mandarin, I didn't want any issues trying to work out how to get back and forth from the airport. With the help of my son over the phone who does speak Mandarin but wasn't with me at the time,he had to insist on them picking us up from the airport as stated on Ebooker's website and after intense discussion they did but insisted it was a pick-up service only so we would have to make our own way back to the airport the next day. Although I wasn't happy not to get a return, I thought it was better than nothing, despite the false advertising. ||Then when we got to the hotel, when I tried to check in they asked me to pay but I had paid in full via Ebooker's and even showed them my on-line banking details which showed that the hotel had taken the money from my account but they still insisted I had to pay again and said Ebooker's would refund the money taken. I wasn't having any of it, especially as the money taken from my account actually had the hotel's name as reference which I showed them. They kept us waiting in the reception for 3 hours whilst they got different people and travel agent's to talk to me and whilst my son and his Chinese friend tried to make them understand that I had paid already and wasn't going to pay twice.||Whilst waiting I noticed the reception was large, with a glassed entrance and a high ceiling. There was a café/restaurant to the right of the reception desk and what looked like an internet area and a tea shop opposite the desk. A few vendor machines were also in reception. ||Anyway, in the end I had enough and booked a different hotel as I could see after 3hrs they obviously wasn't going to give me the room I paid for so I booked a different hotel and complained to Ebookers who kindly...
Read moreI stayed only for one night at this hotel. I had to spend the night in Shenzhen b/c I had a late flight, so I chose this hotel, which they said is very close to the airport and was rather cheap. Well, no taxi wanted to take me to this hotel.. I spent almost one hour trying to get a taxi and all of them refused, lying they didn't know where it was.... I never faced this situation in China before, I was surprised and angry. I finally got to the hotel for 4-5 times the normal taxi fare, otherwise I would have had to spend the night in the airport... (early that day, I'd called the hotel but they said they couldn't send a car to wait for me at the airport...). It takes about 10-15 minutes by car to get there, so it's not as close as they would want you to think. And the area is poor and industrial. The hotel is actually ok, it has 16 floors, it's clean. It has TV, A/C plus internet in the room for 10 RMB an hour. Breakfast is Chinese style and very poor, greasy, sloppy and ... overall bad - 30 RMB. They were constructing a new building near the hotel, so there was noise in the morning. From there, I went to Fuyong port, and that took 30 minutes and 100 RMB.... So, the hotel itself is not bad for a night, but if you manage to get there fast and safely, then... you'll have a better night in...
Read moreI was unexpectedly caught in a situation where every foreign biz man was in town to get their Xmas orders finished. Ultimately every hotel which accepts foreigners was fully booked except this one (and even this one only had two rooms left). It was very much no frills... But it was honestly ok. Given the price, you really...
