DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Suzhou — Hotel in Suzhou City

This hotel is situated within a quiet neighbourhood surrounded by apartment buildings on 3 sides and a river. The location is not very accessible so families on holiday may wish to look at other locations that are nearer to train or bus stations without the need to take taxis everytime; the nearest train station is 3km away. There are a number of small family owned eateries within close vicinity of the hotel, these places offer a variety of local food and are all quite nice, I tried them all during my stay there, one of them opens till late, about 1am! There are also a couple of provision shops that sell all sorts of snacks and beverages as well as daily necessities.||The staff at Doubletree by Hilton at Wujiang are well trained and provide excellent service. They are polite and helpful. The front desk staff are well trained and know their procedures well, the housekeeping staff made sure my room as thoroughly cleaned every day. The dining staff went out of their way to make me feel at home. One of their staff in particular, Mr Kyrie Wang, provided excellent service that was beyond what was required of him. In addition to helping me book taxis on a daily basis, as the WeChat app could not link to my credit card; without me asking, he took the initiative and helped me set up a service on my phone without the need to download anything so that I can book taxis and pay the driver cash. This really helped me a lot during my stay there. Thank you again...

Stayed here numerous times over a 2 year period while managing a project.

Can't say enough about the staff. Always helpful and courteous and always looking for ways to improve. They got to know my routine that included a lot of odd hours due to the many time zones my project dealt with, and went out of their way to be helpful.

When you are living thousands of miles from home for weeks at a time, small gestures mean a lot. They never failed to make those little extra efforts ( thanks for letting me watch the Stanley Cup playoffs and the World Series in the bar, hours before it opened).

Well trained and well managed staff. That goes for everyone from the managers to the lady that cleans the leaves out of the pools and fountains.

The building itself is a top notch Hilton property.

A bit out of the way from city centre but the Metro station is on the property and makes up for this.

Over that period it was nice to see some of the staff get promoted and advance in their careers .

Lots of nice hotels in the city but none even close to this one in...

I recently stayed at this hotel and was very disappointed with the condition of the room. Although the room was clearly marked as non-smoking, upon entering, there was a strong and unpleasant smell of cigarette smoke. As a non-smoker, I am particularly sensitive to such odors.||I immediately informed the front desk, and to their credit, they sent an air purifier to the room. However, even after running the purifier for over an hour, the smell still lingered. I made a second complaint, but unfortunately, the issue was never fully resolved during my stay.||It’s extremely frustrating and uncomfortable to stay in a room that does not meet the standards promised. I hope the management takes this seriously and enforces stricter policies to ensure that non-smoking rooms are truly smoke-free. This experience definitely affected the quality of my stay.
