Holiday Inn Express Suzhou New District — Hotel in Suzhou City

My friends and I stayed for an entire week. The rooms were cleaned each day. The hotel staff was very polite and the front desk was so helpful. Two of the front desk agents spoke English. I think.one of them was named Lucas. The room with the two single beds I think vould be bigger. In terms of location and accessibility I would give a 5/5. There is a big mall right next to the hotel and a Lawson which we bought from every single day as it was so convenient. A subway is close by, a blue frog restaurant and many other eating and shopping places. Overall we had a great experience. The breakfast is mainly chinese style. They provide eggs, noodles, rice, bread, toaster to toast the bread, cereals, tea, milk, fruits, veggies. Its not bad but just not alot of varieties. I stayed in this room in October and their A/C unit already stopped its cooling function. I can hardly fall asleep because the room temperature measures 80 Fahrenheit at the night!

Their customer service is nice and helpful and I have nothing to complain about them, although they cannot help with the heat in my room (I guess they're not authorized to do so).

Holiday Inn offers complimentary breakfast to everyone, whereas you are not served a good variety of food as you may have in other hotels of similar price ranges.

The hotel is fine, but be warned that elevator access can get bottlenecked if large groups are there. Also, get breakfast early, as staff pretty much shut down the operation about 30 minutes early.

Not an ideal destination for tourism, if that's your purpose of travel, though there is a metro station relatively close. The mall next door (Paradise Walk) has a large supermarket, a good number of dining options (including Burger King and Dunkin' Donuts for the homesick), and a Starbucks (good place to do some work).
