Staying one night only as part of a Nexus Holidays China Highlights Tour and despite checking in less than 3 hours ago, have already had a good look around, am well settled into our room, and have enjoyed a refreshing swim. ||First time I have experienced a Holiday Inn and I am very impressed with the Scandinavian style decor - clean lines and solid colours - and the way the room and bathroom have been so thoughtfully planned and designed. There is nothing wanting in this accommodation.||Service also spot on.....from Concierge Bruce (a member of the prestigious Les Clef d’Or) who kindly helped me to my room with my bags, to Demon at the Pool who assisted us firstly with our enquiry and then we we took a swim, and Olivia in the Cafe who organised complimentary fresh milk for my friend’s tea.||Looking forward to a comfortable night’s sleep, and a breakfast at He Cafe (which I sense will be delicious), before heading off on the final two days of what has been a very different travel experience.||I understand from Bruce that the hotel has just celebrated its 1st Birthday. Congratulations to all, and thank you again to Bruce, Demon and Olivia for your...
Read moreA great property with lavish rooms, great views of the Taihu lake and some hilly terrain. The design is well thought with a pleasant spacious outlook in the atriums and the indoor swimming, gym are much appreciated.
Both my pain points pertain to meals:
(a) Room service was unavailable after 7:30 pm. With a challenging location outside the city, it became very difficult for my family to get a meal by the time my wife's work concluded. The Dream mall next door offers little help (only a KFC). Though this could be due to the CNY period and staff limitations, yet would have appreciated a notice/ intimation on the same.
(b) The western section of the Breakfast was not that great. While having limited options with breads/ croissants is acceptable, quality ought to be checked considering Yangtze delta region's superb bakeries.
Special thanks to Jerry - whose help right from the beginning: from clarifying for the testing requirements for visitors, to check-in process ensured a brilliant start to our stay. Cafe staff took great pains to make sure our coffee reached us even when their machine had...
Read moreThis is a lovely looking hotel and always first Bed and Shower. As I was travelling on my own was given a disability room. So large bathroom with fold up seat great for washing feet. But Toilet is crammed against the wall so very tight space. Bed is very comfortable with two Soft and 2 firm pillows. Nicely decorated. Some in the group had a problem with Mossies and unable to find mechanism to shut the window. 2 Lifts and small lobby and Quite small restaurant for the number of people. So then is the problem - Too few seats for groups with early starts and breakfast was ordinary. Toaster even two times through barely browned the bread. No cold milk for cereals or tea. Only 1 staff member to check in guests and clear the tables - stacked with used plates. With fore knowledge of Booked rooms it should have had better staffing and access for tables. All in all...
