Holiday Inn Taicang City Centre — Hotel in Suzhou City

Yes it is the Holiday Inn and I stayed there even though I was not on a Holiday 😁. This Place deserves the five Star rating as for me everything during my stay was very good. Super Location. You do not need a Taxi to go anywhere. Walmart, Starbucks, shopping, post office, Bank and of course many bars and restaurants are all in walking distance. If you feel like getting some good food and a cool beer with it there are plenty of places to choose from. The rooms are big enough and if you pay a bit more you can stay in the VIP area on the top floors. I also made use of the big indoor pool and the nice gym. The Breakfast buffet is quite standard but was ok for the five nights I stayed there. At least the Jura coffeemaker was working and served nice coffees. The Chef who makes you an omelette is very good and friendly and lets you „assemble“ your omelette the way you love it. As mentioned by others, the very sweet thing is that the Internet is routed through a Hong Kong Server and this you do not need a VPN connection which is very helpful. So if you ever in this part of the country, yes I can recommend...

Holiday Inn is one of the few international branch hotel you can find in Taicang. This time I was going to stay as a new Platinum level. Upon my arrival I was given the wellcome drink voucher, etc. I requested if it was possible to get an upgrade. The recepcionist called his colleague and they were discussing in Chinese and not in a good way that my low rate could not get any upgrade. I was a bit surprised since I thought membership benefits were not linked to room rate. Anyway, they gave me access to the Executive Lounge and a free two pieces laundry per day packages. I was told that a fruit set will also arrive to my room in two minutes...it did never come. As I said, not as expected for a Platinum new member.

PS: One if the nights I got dinner at their first floor bar. The guy who attended me was drinking beer and smoking in a table beside me with, I guess other colleagues, and still wearing the working clothes. I wonder if it’s a non smoking hotel. They also kept refilling the beer from the tap as they wished. It shows a lack of discipline and control...

We have been already over two months in TaiCang and always at the Holiday Inn Hotel TaiCang Centre.

Our customer initially recommended us staying in the other big brand Hotel in town, but we did our research online and we decided staying in the Hliday Inn for the following reasons: Location, in the City Center. Reviews of this Hotel posted in the IHG website and other travelers websites.

The Hotels totally responds to what we were expecting, just great, we feel like at home, very friendly staff making your stay extremly comfortable.

Rada and James are always there to assist you on whatever you may need, Angie in the Exective Louge doing her work just great, the bad staff: Mar, Iris, Alex, ... always helpful and making your stay there perfect.

In my opinion there are a couple of areas where th Hotel has to improve, those are: Restaurant, I don't find the food is at the level it should be Executive lounge, maybe a better drink and food selection will help also.

I'll be stayig in this Hotel as long as I am in TaiCang ... it's going to...
