Renaissance Suzhou Wujiang Hotel — Hotel in Suzhou City

This is a very good hotel. It seems to be an unexpected gem in a very isolated part of Suzhou. I had to travel to this area to meet a family member who recently started a new job. The hotel is 1hour away from Suzhou stations. Thus, unless you have a need to be in this area, I would not recommend you staying in this hotel purely because its location is far from all the attractions of central Suzhou. However, if you are in this area and need a hotel then i would most definitely recommend this one. The staff were friendly and spoke english. The hotel buffet was very good, with enough options to satisfy both western and eastern stomachs. They called me one day before my arrival day to confirm upgrade me to the suite room, as an Elite member of the Marriott. Have to say, this is the first time I got upgrade without asking for it. And we are the only table in the lounge, since they do not have quite many Platinum customer in their executive lounge, there're no buffet in Happy Hour. Instead a menu set is provided with 4 course. And also we can order cocktails. I would say, it's even better than the ordinary HH buffet. The only problem is the hotel is still quite new and the number of customers is relatively small, there are still some smell of new building around in the hotel. It might be my fifth or sixth time to visit this lovely and modern hotel. I am pretty sure the staff in club lounge are encouraging and helpful, which will appeal to my future visiting of course. Many may say the location is the very drawback, but I believe the far-off hotel allows me to isolate myself from city life a lot, which can be a beauty to some extent. During the first half of my visits, they are highly inclined to offer an upgrade to a suite, but in the latter half, it seems very difficult. Anyway, it never hurts my stay as I am always alone ja.
