Hilton Taizhou — Hotel in Taizhou

My stay at Hilton Taizhou was unfortunately a disappointing experience that fell short of my expectations for the Hilton brand. Although the hotel itself appears modern and relatively new, and the room was perfectly acceptable, it was the service that let me down the most.

One incident that particularly stands out occurred during a pleasant moment in the bar. I was abruptly interrupted by a staff member from the reception who insolently presented a payment terminal, explaining that there had been an error with the room rate at check-in, which required a larger deposit from me. Being confronted in this manner in front of friends and other guests was both humiliating and far from the level of professionalism expected from an establishment like Hilton.

The situation was further exacerbated when I was denied further service at the bar based on instructions from the reception – again, a communication that took place publicly and felt highly disrespectful.

Throughout my two-day stay, I also experienced a complete lack of room service. There were no new towels, no refill of water, and the advertised express laundry service did not live up to its name, forcing me to iron my own shirts on a dirty ironing board.

Given this experience, I feel that potential guests should consider other accommodation options in the area. While Hilton usually stands for quality and service, my experience at Hilton Taizhou shows that there is significant room for improvement, especially in terms of how guests are treated during unexpected...

Hilton has always been a hotel brand that I prefer to avoid, as it usually feels like more of a four star, than a five star, experience. However, this hotel was really an exception, there’s virtually nothing to fault. The room was beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean, the staff at check in were friendly, professional and spoke English. If I were to really look for flaws, I find it frustrating that as more and more hotels only supply body wash/shampoo/conditioner in large bottles that are attached to the wall, they only do so in the shower, meaning you can’t access them when using the bath; feels like a pretty big oversight to me. This hotel is located right next door to a shopping mall. I think which is the second biggest shopping mall in Taizhou. There you can find a Starbucks KFC and a Domino's pizza. Underground you will find some more Chinese food stores and a big convenience store supermarket. There is nothing else around this hotel. Value for the money can be rated as 6.5/10. Rooms are very clean but the toilet can be cleaner. Rooms are surprisingly very quiet. Good sound proofing. To be honest one of the quietest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in.
