InterContinental Tangshan — Hotel in Tangshan

I've observed for quite some months already, as I stayed in Tangshan IC every time I visited the area! But for some reason the quality of the hotel has been dropped incredibly in the last months.

First of all is the hotel lobby, the grand- spacious lobby has been taken (more than one-third of the whole lobby) for estate promotion and a huge antique shop. I even saw a playground facility at the corner of the lobby, nothing to against that, but that's just in the wrong place with quest staying might appreciate some relax and quiet moments.

After check- in I have ordered some dishes from the Chinese restaurant in the 2nd floor as room service. The time was not even 8 p.m. but almost difficult to find someone to take my order. Until my dinner is ready in my room, I've been told that three different things were unavailable, but they need to inform me in three separate times!

In the next morning I've tried the morning buffet, the waitress are helpful and friendly, while the cook... are cold! Unfortunately it is an opened- kitchen and the contact between the cook and guests cannot be avoided totally. I don't feel I'm welcomed!

And the gym, is now packed, which is not very safe in my opinion and crowded. It looks like they're selling some private course to people not staying in the hotel.

Lastly, I can only find professional services in the executive lounge as well as in...

The staff use hand direct contact on the food, I had inform them about the wrong doing but not action taken and they still use hand directly contact with food.

the Staff photo copy my pass port on the first day of check in, but when hotel want to report the police department about my stay ,The hotel ask me to show them my passport again for verification.

I do not understand ,the photo copy of my passport is make by the hotel staff from my passport ,why did to verify again ?

I have been travel around china for more then 20 years ,only this hotel has this issue.

3.I am long term guest , the staff do not replace new soap after I have used the existing soap. I am paying the room fee everyday , what the hotel staff made decision for me the about the use my soap.

Hotel shall replace the new soap when the existing soap is used.I shall be the one to decide use new soap or old soap.

There are free fruit every week for long term guest , but many time hotel fail to provide and We need to request for the fruit.

Fly can find on on food during the breakfast time.

There are room for Hotel management to improve the service and the policy.

INTERCONTINETAL is international hotel ,but some policy still follow China local standard.

I hope that management of Thanshang Intercontinetal can bring up the Service standard to international...

We stayed at the Tangshan Intercontinental hotel on the night of the 13/02/2015.It was our 15th marriage anniversary.So I informed the receptionist at the time of the booking prior to our stay of that fact.We were really excited that we were going to spend the night at the so "called "best hotel in Tangshan.When we arrived in the room the only thing that special was a complimentary bottle of wine.Where is the bubbly.??No flowers?No candles.It was extremely disappointing .Nothing romantic or special about the room.The internet connection kept dropping.We had to call several times to get it fixed.Only one or two English movie channels.In a 5 star hotel??The reception got my wake up call completely wrong ,therefore I was nearly late for other business that I had to attend to that day.At breakfast there must been at least 15-20 Western ,foreigners having breakfast,Many of them were businessman.The least that you could expect is a English Newspaper.Right??If only then a China Daily,but nothing.Tangshan is only 2.5 hours away from Beijing.How difficult could that be.
