I have been staying so many hotel under IHG, the service of this Crowne Plaza Tianjin Meijiangnan is terrible. The staff is so rude, inexperience, gave wrong information, forgetful. It is totally acceptable in this 4 / 5 star hotel. Below is the incident:
During the check in, the front desk staff told me that my room was upgraded to executive floor which made me so happy. Then I double confirm 2 times whether I can use the facility in Executive Floor and whether I can go to Executive Floor lounge for free, and the answer given is “yes”. So Immediately after I put down the luggage and I go to Executive Floor Lounge and got rejected in a rude and not helpful manner. I requested them to call the front desk to find out, they requested, instead asking me to go to clarify myself. What kind of service is this? Then I have to go all the way down back to the front desk and front desk still say “yes, I can use the Executive lounge for free”, then front desk called the Executive Lounge, and then tell me cannot, as I am only Gold Status, isn’t it the front desk should already know my status? I have been double check 3 times. There has no sorry has been given.
On 18 July’19, my business partner who is also staying in the same hotel and he also checked with the manager before when he booked the meeting room in the executive floor. According to him, the manager told him that it is ok to use for free. At the end, we have used the meeting room for 4 hours and when we leave the same rude staff on the first day would like to charge us for 2 hours. My business partner told her that he has checked with her manager and it should be no charge, then she SHOUT at us…. Wah, I cannot believe it, Crowne plaza employ this kind of people to shout at customer. Some more my business partner is a long term guest there.
During the everyday breakfast, the girl take care of the dumpling section, the way she handle food is a new staff, cannot even hold the thing properly. But never mind, I can tolerate, the thing I cannot tolerate is she is so forgetful, during my 3 days stay, everytime I ordered my dumpling or mix veg, she always forgot and sometime I chose my own veg and pass her the bowl and as long as I do not stand there and wait, she passed to someone else. When I question her, she totally forget about it
The Service in this hotel is really terrible and the Boss should look at it.
Please feel free to contact me and I can tell the management exactly which is the staff I am referring. I am very very...
Read moreI recently stayed at the Crowne Plaza Tianjin Meijiangnan once again and I'm generally satisfied with my stay. However, I've also noticed several details that need to be improved.
When I checked in, the front desk informed me that the high floors were undergoing floor replacement, which might cause noise. Although I was aware of this in advance, it still made me a little worried about my upcoming stay. Nevertheless, the front desk upgraded my room type, which was a delightful surprise and made us feel the hotel's sincerity and care. The comfortable room environment contributed a lot to my enjoyable holiday.
It's worth mentioning that the hotel thoughtfully provided me with three beverage coupons. However, to my great surprise and disappointment, for at least four days of my one-week stay, the hotel failed to supply any canned drinks such as Coke, Sprite, Fanta, tonic water, or sparkling water. In the end, the three coupons had to be wasted and I had to return them to the front desk when checking out. According to the front desk, the coupons couldn't be converted into welcome points and had to be voided. This experience made me realize that the hotel needs to improve in terms of material supply and service flexibility to prevent such unpleasant situations from recurring.
During my interactions with the hotel staff, I found that female employees generally maintained a positive attitude, patient and enthusiastic in helping guests, which made me feel comfortable. Regrettably, some male employees didn't perform as well. Whether in the concierge, front desk, or check-in reception, there were cases of unsatisfactory attitudes. I understand that since May 1st , the hotel has been experiencing a surge in guests during the holiday season, putting employees under high pressure. But the impatient looks on some employees' faces and their inattentive responses to guests' feedback were really discouraging.
All in all, the Crowne Plaza Meijiangnan, with its superior location away from the hustle and bustle of major tourist attractions, offers a quiet and comfortable place for rest, making it an ideal choice for me to visit relatives in Tianjing. I do hope the hotel can refine its service levels, strengthen employee training, and enhance service awareness and quality, especially in paying attention to details and managing employees' attitudes, so as to meet guests' expectations and provide a more perfect...
Read moreMy recent stay at Crowne Plaza Meijiangnan was probably the worst I have had at a IHG group hotel.
It went wrong from the beginning. I went to the reward members counter space at the front desk to check, but the staff beckoned me over to where they were. A minor problem, but not normal for a IHG property.
Second problem was having very little available that qualified for the welcome drinks vouchers. One beer brand only, no white wine. That's ok, I was happy with Jack Daniels. On the second night I drank the last 1/2 measure. They had no more!! I asked for Jack several more times. It took 3 days for the next bottle to show up, for my last night.
A big black mark on the air conditioning. Try as I might get the room temperature down to a sensible sub 20C, it always ended up back at 25C by morning. Where I come from 25C is not a sleeping temp. Lack of sleep is a big no-no over 5 nights.
A very nice room, staff trying hard. Internet as good as I expect in China.
On the second morning it seems that only 2 of the 5 elevators were working. After a long wait for elavators that eventually showed up, but full of people, I walked down, late to my first meeting of the day. My complaint to the front desk, with name and room number was not acknowledged or responded to.
The outdoor restaurant was average, the buffet dishes not warm enough. Breakfast was good. We had to help the bar stuff out when the lack of English got in the way.
On the last night, I thought I would pay the bill and finalise check out so that I could get away quickly in the morning in a 6am taxi, but alas they didn't out all the room charges through and I did have to pay another bill in the morning. A stressful start that had me running late for...
