Walking through the revolving entrance door from the pungent smog blanketing Tianjin on our arrival day, the first impression of Fraser Place was a pleasant scent.||||From my Room 503, I had a view on the neighbouring office building. The room featured a very comfortable large bed; select the best fit for your tired head from a “pillow menu”! There was plenty of closet and drawer space to store away items, a little sofa & tea table to relax, and always a couple of bottles of complimentary drinking water. An ironing board & iron, washing machine with powder detergent provided, microwave and fridge practically completed my home away from home for 10 nights. High-grade bathroom fittings and toiletries decorated the shiny clean bathroom, in which a nice bathtub invited to a long hot relaxing bath after a hard day’s work at the plant. ||||When the autumn temperatures dropped considerably, the air con heating function didn’t work. One evening as I headed out for dinner, I met two maintenance workers in the hallway and mentioned to them that my room was getting a bit chilly. When I came back from dinner, I returned to the cozy warmth of a running space heater! This quick and attentive response impressed me. In this case as in some others, it was helpful that I speak Chinese.||||Fraser Place inhabits a very international mix of guests. A bit of an unpleasant damper to the stay was the combination of thin walls/ceilings and inconsiderate guests who made themselves noticed noisily regardless of what time of day/night it was. || ||Regarding other facilities, there is a Game Room for the older and a playroom for the youngest guests to chill out. We enquired about booking the Board Room for a meeting, but the quoted price was not doable for us and we found an alternative seating area inside the hotel. A nice little modern gym with adjacent yoga room keep you fit. As the hotel is still very new, some external areas (terrace etc.) were still under construction, but this didn’t impact daily life at Fraser Place.||||The F&B service and selection still need some training and inspiration. Not rarely, we needed to plug in the hot water machine or refill the coffee machine for breakfast service ourselves. After a week, breakfast got boring. One rainy tired evening when we just didn’t feel like going outside anymore, we decided to have dinner at the hotel. The 198 RMB/person dinner buffet however was disappointing and terribly overpriced for the available fare.|| ||Outside the hotel, small eateries can be found along the right side of the road heading North. Don’t forget to grab a 煎饼 (Jianbing) here! For further restaurants from Korean and Cantonese over “Western” and BBQ 串儿 to a tasty Xinjiang meal, take a taxi loop around the west side of the stadium to Aocheng 奥城.||||A convenience store right around the building corner (past the Maseratis ;-) from the hotel entrance will keep you well stocked with fruit, drinks, and snacks.|| ||The front desk team was a bit slow and seemed a bit helpless at times especially in handling an arising billing/payment issue (our international transfer to the hotel got "stuck"), but always very helpful in fetching a taxi even during difficult rush hour times. Once you are familiar with the city layout, you will find it easy to take public transportation from the closest bus and subway stations (Tianta 天塔 metro station is just up Weijin South Road).||||The Operations Manager, Ms. Sherry Zhang, pitched in to solve the payment issue with their Accounting team. She is your go-to person if you need any support; her service-mindedness reflects the high standard that Fraser Place Tianjin has set for itself and will certainly reach once its team and final touches grow together.||||I don't think I'd want to stay anywhere else during the next business...
Read moreAs I have a few members in a family, going for a short vacation is always not easy. I have to book at least 2 rooms and request to be next to each other. However, this may not be always possible, that is why I like Fraser Place in Tianjin. This is a nice and cozy service apartment which has 1 - 3 rooms apartment for my family.||The room size is just nice for vacation and it has all the facilities I need and it makes me feel at home. There is also a nice restaurant on 3rd floor which serves International food and the service is great. ||Although it is slightly away from the city centre, but it is near to many amenities like Aocheng which there are many restaurants which offer great and cheap food.||The staff are friendly and they are prompt to help if you need advices. Love this place and will be back if I visit...
Read moreWe visited the city over the weekend and put up at this excellent place was an experience. The place is new and provide all the facilities and comfort one expects from a star rated property. What made the difference for us was the excellent service we experienced during our stay. Thanks to all the staff and in particular Helen for making us the coffee we badly need late in the evening after a night out. Savouring coffee at the stylish coffee bar at lobby level was refreshing- a good place for live-in residents to socialise. |Once again, thanks to all the staff who made our stay an...
