We booked this hotel quite a few months out. we were looking for somewhere to stay before our ovation of the seas cruise (for information on the cruise or getting to the port from here please read at the end of this review) which leaves from this port. The hotel is quite run down but we found it ok for an overnight stay for the price. Bathrooms are old and shabby and need some work. Overall some TLC is needed here. location wise, you can walk to quite a large shopping mall (easy 15 mins across a lovely Park). The mall has everything you need and would expect from a multi level mall. Other than this, there is not too much around except for a bit of nightlife behind the hotel. This does not come to life till late in the evening. Also, the nightclubs behind are not recommended for kids as it is a bit of a red light district. Binhai is an unusual City especially around this hotel. We found quite a large number of hire bikes just abandoned anywhere and everywhere. Some of them are not locked so I found great pleasure in riding around on hire bikes for free. The bikes are yellow so you can't miss them, and they are just everywhere. Almost like a ghost town. I would have paid if I could but only WeChat payment is accepted for these.||||Getting to this hotel from the train station and from this Hotel to the port is very easy by taxi. you are always overcharged unless you are Chinese. We paid approximately $50 from the train station to this hotel but found out it really is a 11 or $12 trip. I don't think you can avoid this. We walked to the mall the first time which took about 10 to 15 minutes. The second and third times I caught a taxi cause I was just looking for some medication. first taxi trip from the hotel to the mall cost approximately $15 but the second trip from the hotel to the mall cost $1.50. This was from a female taxi driver who laughed at the prices I had been paying for taxis.||||I do not speak any Chinese so Google translator is an absolute must. This phone app is fantastic and works extremely well.||||You need to barter quite strongly with the taxi drivers in binhai otherwise they will just rip you off. If you are paying $15 it is probably a one or two dollar trip.||||If you are catching a Caribbean cruise from the binhai cruise Port, you need to avoid the middle of the day. Either go early or wait till later. Our boarding time onto the ovation of the seas took approximately 2.5 hours. There are many lines and the Chinese staff speak very little English. All in all boarding the ovation of the seas and getting off it in Singapore were very bad experiences. We did however enjoy the 12 day cruise.||||We chose to travel from Beijing to the binhai port by train. This was a great experience. Very safe and very fast. Approximately one hour is all it takes. By road it can take half a day depending on the traffic. An important thing to do is get a Chinese speaking person to buy your train ticket in Beijing. Your train ticket must be ordered online months before but finding the right place to pick it up is very difficult unless you speak Chinese. But once on the train it is very nice and very very...
Read more@IHG, shame on you that you have this hotel listed under your brand. This is the most terrible place I've ever stayed under IHG group. The room is filthy almost everywhere: stains on walls, dead mosquito body on walls and ceiling, the bathroom has stains and mold in every corner. Cabinets, glass doors, toilet, basin have never been cleaned, ever! Carpet is worn out with stains. The AC is loud and noisy, and there are people smoking in the hallway. Even the sheet cover has a suspected bloodstain! I cannot imagine how this hotel could ever pass IHG qualification! For the sake of brand loyalty, I request this hotel to be...
Read moreI have stayed in this hotel for around 4 times. Everytime I stayed for around 1 month. it is good hotel in TEDA. However it is some what far from main market but close to this hotel there are two malls. Room quality is over all good. Room towards front of hotel are better as they have proper mobile and wifi connectivity. At backside rooms there is some noise because of bars and discs. Most of Hotel staff does not speak english but are helpful.||||Dinner is not served in bedroom that is one of the minus point. Cleanliness...
