The hotel is located next to the Tianjin Binhai railway station, a 10-minute walk away.
Cuz Binhai District is not the central area of Tianjin, the hotel is suitable for travelers who come to Binhai specifically. I went from Beijing to Binhai Station, and the train took about 1 hour, which is suitable for a short weekend vacation. And it takes about 30 minutes by taxi from the hotel to the Ocean Museum.
Communication and service
I sent an email to the reservation department and called the hotel. The phone communication was very smooth. Thanks to Mr. Gao at the hotel front desk for his detailed introduction.
The service at the front desk, restaurant and lounge was very good. When checking out, the lady at the front desk also gave me a Mid-Autumn Festival moon cake. Thank you, two ladies, and wish you a happy Mid-Autumn Festival.
However, there are still two flaws: 1) I sent an email to the reservation department but there was no reply. 2) The welcome fruit was forgotten to be sent. But I ate a lot of fruit in the lounge, so I didn’t ask for it.
Membership
The hotel is very generous. I am a Platinum member and booked a basic room with points, then room upgraded to "Premium River View". I have lounge privileges, but the lounge is closed for breakfast, so the hotel gave us breakfast.
Room
I really like the three-separation design of the bathroom, with the shower, sink and bathtub separated, and the toilet was in a separate room across from the bathroom.
The view of the Haihe River is unique, and can see the LED light show on the opposite floor at night.
The bed is very comfortable and the sleep quality is very good at night.
Food
There are many dishes for the buffet breakfast, the beef noodles are unique, with Northwest flavor, you can choose the thickness of the noodles, in addition, there are pancakes, wontons, and mutton soup stalls, and you need to wait in line for a long time during peak hours. Because it is Mid-Autumn Festival, there are also self-operated moon cakes in the desserts. The coffee tastes normal.
Caifenglou is a Chinese restaurant with two systems. One is the Cantonese morning tea-style buffet, which is charged by seat. The original price seems to be 220, and the group purchase price is 168.
The second is Chinese style ordering, which is moderately priced. Two dishes cost 150.
Caifenglou recommends booking seats in advance.
The lounge is also on the first floor. The service is very good, but the taste of the dishes is average. HH's bacon skewers are really tasteless, and fried fish and smoked fish can fill your stomach. The red velvet cake is not bad. There are also many types of whiskey. I made a Moscow mule myself. It is recommended to take a taxi to eat outside at night, and come back to drink in the lounge.
There is also a lounge, gym and swimming pool on the 12th floor. Because it was Mid-Autumn Festival, many guests were traveling with families, and I often met a family holding swimming rings in the elevator. It's a pity that I didn't have time to swim.
Summary
In short, this is a hotel with good service, generous to members, and comfortable rooms. The price is not expensive. It is suitable for tourists traveling to...
Read moreAs part of our 2-week motorcycle journey across China, Tianjin was one of our most anticipated rest day. We were greeted at the door by Mr Ashish Shukla who very warmly welcomed us. Having only 1 night to spend in Tianjin, we requested up to date information about restaurants and bars that we could visit; especially since all of us are big football fans and the Euro 2021 Finals between England and Italy was being played that night/morning. Mr Ashish was kind enough to guide us to the closest bar showing the match at 3am, provided us important information about dining locations, informed us of all hotel amenities including Happy Hour timings and was happy to assist if we had any further requests. As a part of a team of 4 travellers, we found his character very appeasing and friendly. His interpersonal communication skills at a very high level and his enthusiastic commitment to his job very admirable. The hotel and Intercontinental Group should take note of this asset to your organisation. And we believe he should be commended for his hospitality skills. Mr Ashish went out of his way to follow up at 3am whether we had found the correct location of the bar and additionally, also offered to arrange transportation to take us to the venue. We feel this is above the call of his job scope and duties. Further to that, he promptly arrived during our departure to wish us well. For me, it is rather rare to find such hospitable individuals who go above the call of duty. Thank you Mr Ashish Shukla and continue with the great work!!||||Written by:||Hitesh...
