Tianjin often dwarfed by its big sister Beijing, is a gem in and of itself. Just a beautiful city that has kept the charm of old and new without losing it’s identity. This was my first time staying at the Wanda Vista and I must say that I was extremely impressed. The hotel is tucked away in a more quiet part of town, yet extremely convenient as a taxi to the train station or the Central part of town is literally 12-15 RMB, around 2 USD. The moment I got out of my taxi I was greeted, with a warm hello and escorted to the check in counter. The staff at check in were well prepared and even knew my name when I arrived at the counter. This could have been because I had called several hours earlier to mention I would be coming in at 19:00 and I did not want to lose my room as the hotel was at 100% occupancy. But still they paid attention to details! Even with every room full, there was no sense of it being that full, riding the elevator up to my room was filled with more staff escorting me than patrons of the hotel.|| ||Starting with the lobby it was very large, and paired well with the overall warm and inviting atmosphere. The rooms themselves also had air purifiers in them as Tianjin like most cities in China has air pollution. I mentioned to the staff that I was concerned about the pollution, as the AQI was soaring close to 200 AQI. To my surprise, the staff member was actually listening to my concern and they brought me an additional air purifier without even asking. I was astounded at this because they were “thinking outside the box” and anticipating a future request.||||The next morning I woke up and had breakfast. The breakfast room was not crowded either and it was very easy to find a table. The breakfast was quite extensive and well stocked; however, there was a limited amount of western options. Nevertheless, the basics: eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese, etc made it quite easy to eat as a foreigner. This breakfast was certainly better than other hotels in Tianjin which are extremely sparse in both Chinese and Western choices. The dishes were replenished quickly and the staff was warm and friendly from the moment you entered the breakfast room.||After breakfast I went for a walk into town. Actually walking along the river was a very peaceful experience. The walkway was well maintained and clean making it great for a run or power walk, in total 5 KM, to the centre of town.||||I left feeling refreshed and well rested. It was a very enjoyable experience and I certainly will be heading back to the Wanda Vista again for a semi-staycation...

The hotel itself is beautiful, and the service was excellent.I especially want to thank Angel Anna who was the hotel staff, she was amazing! She took the time to help me figure out where to eat, what to do around the city, and even walked me through how to use the * app, which was super helpful. She was kind, patient, and really made me feel looked after during my stay. Thanks again to Angel Anna and the whole team at Wanda Vista. I’d...
