The Farrington Hotel (Building A) — Hotel in Weifang

Hotel has a very nice lobby but the rooms are old and run down. Carpet was dirty and the room cleaning was just OK. Looks like the bathrooms have been remodeled but not the room itself. It was weirdly quiet when I was there. I never saw more than a few other guests. It felt like there was no one else staying there. Grounds are run down as well - numerous fountains in the front and back don't work and are just full of dirty water. We were told we could not play cards as a family in the bar, so we went up to the third floor common area. About 9:30, a staff member came and turned off the lights. It was really weird.||||Staff attitude was mixed. Some were extremely helpful and worked hard to understand and work with me in English. Others were dismissive and didn't try very hard. Breakfast was not very good. The bar staff really couldn't do much other than bring a beer. They had no clue about wine or cocktails really.||||All in all, the most disappointing hotel we stayed in in China. Price is too high for the quality...

This hotel is tired. It provides everything but is desperatly in need of an upgrade to meet the 5 star rating it professes. Perhaps 3 stars would be more acurate.||The water pressure was terrible and the water that came through was not hot.||At minimum a hot shower and a comfortable bed should be standard in an international hotel. The bed was hard and the pillows flat and uncomfortable.||There was so much stuff on the bedside table, the desk and other tables there was nowhere for personal gear. We had trouble with the free WiFi and the lighting system and TV operations were bizarre and difficult use.||The restaurants were good, the breakfast adequate and a fair variety.||Staff were helpful and friendly and the nightly gift a delightful gesture.||Did not meet our...
