This was my second stay at this hotel. The rooms are reasonably sized, very clean, and have good work tables. The breakfast spread is good; I especially appreciate their selection of Chinese teas. There is a reasonable, if somewhat expensive, bar in the lobby, in case you do not feel like walking out.||||My stand out memory of the hotel was the view of the East Lake. If anything it was even more spectacular now. The in-room tea and comfortable arm chair made it possible to enjoy the process of waking up with an early morning view of the lake. The wifi signal was strong, but as in most hotels in China, everything seems to take forever to download. The work table is very well designed with lots of points for charging all your devices, and an ethernet port, in case you have trouble with the wifi.||||The hotel is close to a couple of universities. A large mall with many dining options is a ten minute walk away. The staff is helpful, and there are several people at the reception and lobby who speak excellent English. This is a hotel I would come back to if I need to stay again in this...

Our Yangtze cruise ship had broken down in front of the first lock in Yichang, meaning we missed out on the Three Gorges and we had just been transferred back to Wuhan in a lengthy bus ride. ||||From the moment we walked into the lobby of this hotel the day turned bright. Staff was efficient checking us in. The rooms were very nicely appointed with extra wide and comfortable beds, a very good bathroom and a large Samsung LCD TV. ||||The happy stay continued with the dinner buffet. This must have been one of the best buffet meals we ever had, with for example freshly cut Sashimi to order (salmon, tuna and other options). The dessert selection was marvelous, I think I had 7 different small cakes and all were delicious. ||||We ate well, slept well and the service was efficient and very friendly. The location was good, overlooking Donghu Lake and about 10 minutes walk to a major shopping district and...
Read moreWe stayed for one night at this hotel unexpectedly when our Victoria Cruise boat was damaged and we could not board it.||This was a fantastic hotel; huge bedroom with a very good bathroom, excellent hairdryer but poor air-con - it kept cutting out every 15 minutes and had to be reset.||The hotel is in a good location, just opposite a large lake and park.||The buffet dinner was probably the best we had during our 18 day trip to China. There was a huge choice of excellent food, hot and cold, including sushi and sashimi, unlimited Tempranillo wine, and a large selection of beautifully presented desserts - a welcome change from the ubiquitous watermelon.||Sadly, breakfast was...
