Wuhan Junlan Hotel — Hotel in Wuhan

The 5-star hotel generally matched the expectations I got before I arrived and after checking the comments from previous customers. The free toiletries, slippers, doubleroom size of 74 square metres plus, new building, good buffet breakfast and proximity to the international airport were just all there. The buffet breakfast has been the best in variety, food quality, dining atmosphere and service level of the class in China in my own experience. The food choices were so plentiful that I still failed to try out many during my 2 occasions of breakfast on the first level. Though there were a few instances which significantly brought down the higher score the hotel should have deserved, with more training and coaching from the management against complaints, this hotel will become more popular than it has been. My complaints are failure to bring in the free welcome fruit until our group tour leader's intervention on the third night of stay, the cleaner's replacing my own coloured toothbrush with the hotel free white toothbrush without my consent, and the provision of 41 breakfast boxes of yogurt, pear and 2 unfresh buns for the tour group's departure at 6 am. It was a pity that such software issues were found during my stay and it was the upgrading of staff service level which is badly needed for hotels like this to survive in a major city like Wuhan where traffic jams easily affect visitors'...

Hotel is an about 30 min drive from the airport, which is mainly a highway.||||The rooms are large and comfortable. ||||The bed is comfortable. Electric plugs are next to the bed and desk. They take EU, US and Chinese plugs of course.||||Bathroom is large and well light. A separate walk in shower is available. Water quantity and temperature is good.||||The breakfast is quite good, with average orange juice, good quality bread and even some salami. Cheese was missing though. The breakfast looked clean and good.||||Most staff spoke at least a little English. ||||Internet is Wifi based and quite fast, with Chinese websites reachable at 8 MBit/s. Foreign of course much slower. The VPN did not work well, which may be something to do with the GFW and not the hotel. Skype and Facetime worked well.||||Aircon worked well. ||||For sure I will stay there again,...

Just looking at the pictures of the hotel made me look forward to staying here (mostly for the bath), but the quick check in and the room made the stay even more enjoyable. Of course, I had a bubble bath each day and the room itself was so nice and spacious, that I could work out in there. I didn’t have to though as the gym has pretty much every machine you could need as well as a pool (I didn’t swim in it though). What I didn’t know before arriving was that there is a convenience store on the first floor. Definitely a lifesaver since it was hot when I stayed and I liked to stock up on water (that I could place in the hotel room fridge) as well as buy some snacks, iced coffee and cup noodles...
