We chose Campanile based on review and nearest to Xining Railway Station. The reception ladies were warm and friendly. Language is a barrier so have your Google Translate handy. First day we found a Halal mee tarik restaurant a short walk from the hotel. Next to the mee tarik restaurant is a supermarket, street food vendor (like your yong tau foo seller) and fruit seller. We even returned again the following day to stock-up for our train ride to Lhasa, Tibet.
Shout out to Xiao Gao for her over and beyond hospitality❤️ I needed ice to help the swelling on my knee after climbing Sigiriya and Pidurangala last week. She made an effort to help me. We missed breakfast too and she was kind to make us egg noodles. As we were checking out we needed help again to show us the way to the 800m distance of Xining Railway Station. Waahh.. the friendly guy who works at the hotel helped pull my suitcase (blessed him!) and another lady reception walked us all the way and up the escalator to the gateway of the railway station. Talk about generous hospitality the staff of Campanile Hotel deserve a 10 star rating!
Keep up the great service and we will definately return again. From the bottom of our hearts many thanks again! Best rgds, Ruslena Ramli and Latiffa Aini...
Read moreThe staff was so nice as to allow us an early check in as we arrived around 12+ noon and really appreciated that they upgraded us to a Queen room. WiFi in the room could drop off, especially when going into the bathroom, probably as the room was at one end of the building. Cleanliness is very good as we used white soled bedroom slippers and it was still white after 2 days! I wish they would provide real coffee mugs instead of the disposable cups, for environmentally friendly reasons. Nice rain shower and bathroom is well equipped. Location wise it is convenient as within walking distance to Drum Tower, Bell Tower and Muslin Quarters. Only difficulty is finding it when we first arrived. The breakfast I would rate as “so so”, maybe because I was expecting nice croissants that I had when I visited Germany but alas I was disappointed. Nice coffee machine but it was not simple to operate so most of the time I got black coffee. Appreciate the welcome drinks after being out in the hot weather. Overall, I enjoyed my stay...
Read moreThis hotel's location is truly hidden (pun intended) behind the bright lights and bustle of Xi'an, yet still centrally located with affordable prices. It's approximately 500 - 550 m from the Bell and Drum Tower and the Muslim Quarter, all within an 8 - 10 minute walk.
We booked two rooms for a four-night stay without breakfast. The rooms were quite spacious with standard amenities. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, well-lit, and the windows weren't too large but they were enough to provide a view. The AC and Wi-Fi was good, and there was a washer and dryer available for free on the first floor (a huge help for us) and a small minimart in the same building.
The staff here were top-notch. They graciously accommodated our request to change rooms without any fuss, helped with some questions about Xi'an, booked a taxi upon check-out, and even helped move (and store) our laundry when we left for the city.
It was a great experience, we enjoyed our stay here, and I think...
