Hotel Ibis Xi'an — Hotel in Xi'an

Spent 4 nights at Chenggong International Hotel. Booked a deluxe single room. Good-sized room with comfortable bed. Small but clean bathroom with all the usual amenities, good hot water and water pressure. Room was very clean and well maintained during my stay. View from back of hotel is an old apartment complex, kind of interesting.||Breakfast is included with the room and it's a good selection of noodles, eggs, vegetables and breads. Make sure to get your breakfast ticket before going to the buffet.||Good location near East Gate of Xi'an Wall and nearby is a charming park; the Xi'an Wall Ring Park. Take a stroll through the park in the morning to see locals practice tai-chi, sing opera, dance and just enjoy the park with family and friends.||It is possible to walk to Drum Tower/Bell Tower from hotel, but bus is recommended. Hotel has a handy guide for bus/subway in Xi'an and it's very affordable. Cash is accepted on buses so no need for a card. Price is currently 2 RMB.||Some restaurants and convenience store are located within walking distance of the hotel.||Staff was extremely helpful and also arranged car to Xi'an North Train Station for return to Beijing.||Will recommend this hotel to anyone planning a visit to Xi'an and definitely stay again...

We wee booked here for 3 nights in august. We stayed the first night as we arrived late. The room was terrible. There was an awful smell of smoke, the bed was wrecked. Hand prints on the walls. The bathroom looking like it was robbed from an airplane. The floor was squeaky and the halls were filthy too. We were collected very early the following morning for a tour but after we returned we checked out within 10 minutes and moved to a better hotel. The staff wee friendly and did give us a full refund for the remaining two nights and apologised to us. It was such a pity that the hotel was so bas as it is in a good location. That unfortunately, is probably the best comment I have about this property. I know travelling on a budget you may need to put up with some "okay" hotels but this was...

Like the hotel. Clean and the amenities that i need are available. This is not Shang ri-la Plaza or Ritz carlton or marriot, or the likes; so do not expect too much. They supply toothpaste, brushes, green tea and water. Bathroom is nice and clean. Bed is on the firmer side which I really like. Linens are clean. Lighting of the room is ok. but it smells like cigarrete even in my room ( non smoking). Shows on TV are all in chinese. Scrolled and did not find any english speaking or any translated to english show or english subtitles. Buffet breakfast is ok. Food caters more to chinese or asian communities, which is expected. Over all for the price, this is very worth the stay. Will come back.

Update: nobody speaks english at the reception. Need to do a lot of translation thru...
