I stayed at Hyatt Regency Xi’an from 23-28 Dec and wish to extend my sincere appreciations to General Manager Rick Sun for such a wonderful stay. Many 5-star hotels offer nice facilities. For me, the distinguishing key point is the staff. This hotel has some of the best staff I’ve ever experienced. ||The reservation team at the hotel gave me excellent suggestions on what room would be appropriate for my family. They also set up the room with thoughtful welcome amenities – some toys for my young son and romantic beautiful gifts for my wife.||Restaurant staff at breakfast were extremely dutiful – carefully noting what drinks and fruits we liked and making sure we were always well fed.||Executive lounge staff were professional – remembering the tea we liked and cheerfully inquiring what adventures my son had got up to each day. ||The two ladies who cleaned our room always had a big smile and warm greeting for my son. This was especially touching and it meant that everyone from the staff wearing suits at the front desk, to the house-keeping staff wearing aprons changing my towels, were so very well trained. ||I booked an Executive Regency Suite which was spacious, clean and had a great view over the nearby lake. Strongly recommend this room. ||I am a convert to the Hyatt brand because of my stay at this hotel. Thank you very much for a perfect stay and I look forward to...
Read moreThe Hyatt Regency Hotel in Xi’An is indeed a world class 5 star Hotel. We were greeted by a doorman (Welcomer) who opened our taxi door and carried our luggage to our room too. (Unlike another 5 Star Hotel we had stayed in previously in Xi’An who I would not recommend staying at. See my posted reviews). Check in took just a few minutes and we were delighted by the speed, friendliness and attention to our very needs. It is worth adding that the design and layout of the hotel requires a lot of walking to get to your room or other places in the hotel. As expected of a hotel of this calibre, the food is fantastic albeit very expensive by Chinese standards and indeed other countries too. So much so that other than one meal we ate out. US$20 for breakfast is far from being cheap when our last Hotel was equal to only US$10. Our room was spacious, well equipped and tastefully furnished. The view over the manmade lake was nice too as well, our room had it’s own sit out balcony. The wifi does not work well with access to many International websites. including when using VPN meaning that the server has restricted access to the internet. I suggest you purchase an E-Sim or Sim card for use in China before you arrive in the country. The Hyatt Regency Hotel in Xi’An I. DO recommend to travelers visiting this ancient and...
Read moreThis hotel is simply outstanding. Don't even think about, just book it. We love the Hyatt brand, but this was one of the best ones we've stand at anywhere in the world. The room was huge, comfortable, and well appointed. (In fact, the room was bigger than many peoples' studio apartments. Did we get an upgrade?). The bathroom was spatious and the bed comfortable. Blackout curtains are important to us, and the room was nice and dark for sleeping.||||The breakfast was abundant and excellent, and we couldn't wait to try new foods everyday. They have a variety of Western and Chinese dishes and we had so much fun trying different Chinese foods every day, that we didn't have room for any Western breakfast items. ||||The swimming pool is huge and has excellent lap lanes (bring your cap and goggles for lap swimming). There is also a sauna and hot tub in the men's and women's locker rooms. The pool and spa are open to 10 pm and were never crowded during our stay.||||We enjoyed the club lounge in the evening with its food and drink options. Lots of fun Chinese dishes, but then the upscale mall across the street had great restaurants too. Picture menus at the restaurants. Use Google Translate app on your phone to decipher.||||Just be prepared for people in China not wanting to speak English and using their phones...
