Excellent Stay at Intercontinental Xi'an Northwest Hotel

I recently stayed at the Intercontinental Xi'an Northwest Hotel for three nights and had an absolutely amazing experience. From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff provided exceptional service that truly made our stay memorable.

First and foremost, the location of the hotel was perfect. Situated in a prime area of Xi'an, we had easy access to popular tourist attractions such as the Terracotta Warriors and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Additionally, the hotel is conveniently located near shopping centers, restaurants, and transportation options, making it incredibly convenient for guests.

Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the friendly and attentive staff who made us feel welcome right away. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, allowing us to settle into our rooms quickly. The rooms themselves were spacious, well-designed, and impeccably clean, providing us with a comfortable and luxurious atmosphere to unwind after a long day of exploration. The beds were incredibly comfortable, guaranteeing a restful night's sleep each night.

The hotel amenities were also excellent. We took advantage of the fitness center, which was well-equipped with modern exercise equipment and offered a variety of workout options. The swimming pool was another highlight of our stay, offering a relaxing and refreshing way to cool off and unwind.

In terms of dining options, the hotel did not disappoint. We enjoyed delicious meals at both the on-site restaurants. The level of service extended to the dining experiences was exceptional, with attentive staff and delectable cuisine. The breakfast spread was particularly impressive, offering a wide range of options to cater to different tastes and dietary preferences.

Throughout our stay, every staff member we encountered went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. They were always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests, providing helpful recommendations and making arrangements for transportation and sightseeing.

Overall Experience Our one-night stay at the InterContinental Xi'an North was overall a positive experience, which we rate as 9 out of 10. However, this high rating is largely due to our persistent communication with the staff and management to address various issues we encountered.

Location and Accessibility The hotel's location is not in the city center, but it is conveniently accessible via the metro. This made it relatively easy for us to navigate Xi'an. The view from our room was unremarkable and did not offer any notable sights, which was a slight disappointment.

Check-In Process and Welcoming Fruits Upon arrival, we were disheartened by the check-in process. Despite being Platinum members, we experienced a long wait in the lobby. The quality, quantity, and diversity of the welcoming fruits were also underwhelming, especially when compared to what we have received at some Holiday Inn Express locations. Eventually, we were taken to the Club InterContinental upstairs for check-in, where we were offered complimentary drinks. This gesture was a pleasant surprise and slightly mitigated our earlier frustrations. The Club Manager was exceptionally helpful and cordial, and we enjoyed a wonderful and lengthy conversation with her.

Addressing Complaints The following morning, we voiced our complaints to the Front Office Manager. She was very helpful and committed to resolving our issues. In response to our concerns, she offered us several compensations, including a complimentary breakfast, another bowl of assorted fruits, and a late check-out at 6 pm. These gestures were greatly appreciated and significantly improved our overall satisfaction with the stay.

Breakfast We were quite satisfied with the breakfast provided. The variety and quality of the food met our expectations and offered a pleasant start to our day.

Conclusion In summary, our stay at the InterContinental Xi'an North had its challenges, particularly with the check-in process and initial service for Platinum members. However, the efforts of the staff, to address and resolve our complaints were commendable and greatly enhanced our experience. The convenient metro access and satisfactory breakfast also contributed positively to our stay. We hope that the hotel will continue to improve its services, especially for loyal members, and we would consider staying here again...

The major reason why I would choose Intercontinental rather than other competitor luxury hotel brands, is that I can feel both LUXURY and WARM from it. ||||And, during my multiple stays happened in the whole of last year, I am glad to witness that the Intercontinental Xi'an North, just a case in point to demonstrate this virtue, is keeping going well and gaining popularity among folks. And I believe the powerful and efficient management from top to bottom is not the only cause behind ...||||When you enter the lobby, someone will instantly inquire if any assistance is required, which you don't always experience at other hotels...||||When you leave off your kid in the restaurant for a second during the breakfast, someone will instantly help to look after your baby for you in case you would worry about them, which you don't always experience at other hotels...|| ||And when you feel tired, getting back into your room after a whole day of travel, you will be instantly touched by everything cleaned and tidied up, which you don't always experience at other hotels...||||Literally, every little thing makes a difference, which is especially true when it comes to service industries. And every details in service mainly account for the whole experience and subjective feelings that a guest can tell. Once the first impression is well established, the virtue & reputation will be spread out from one to another, back and forth, and eventually a positive circle will be perfectly formed.||||I see LUXURY from its interior design by the legendary CCD team, its facilities such as a Schindler elevator or a Duravit bathroom accessories, and its amenities such as a Dyson Hair Dryer or a Nespresso coffee machine. ||||Well I also feel WARM from every genuine smile on hotel staffs' faces, every appropriate turned-down service, and every delicately made Chinese cuisine.||||I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ms. Eva Wang, Ms. Amanda Li and Ms. Elaine Xiang from the Dept. of Front Office, who always offered me generous help whenever it is possible, and also Ms. Ella Guo from Dept. of F&B, who helped me a lot, especially when I tried and managed to host a small catering party for my friends. ||||Keep going and keep shining, Intercontinental Xi'an North!||||The best is yet to come.||--------||Jiawei Wang||IHG Spire Elite...
