First thing first. If you are going to stay here anyway, I suggest you take all your valuable with you. The cleaner might just take out everything from the room and trash them.||||I am absolutely furious at Sheraton Xian (262 Feng Hao Rd). They treated me like trash. This included the front desk, the cleaner and the loyalty manager Tavia Xi Wang. When I complaint to her about my terrible experience. She only gave me lip service and apologized but there is nothing more she could do. Read below for the full story that I took pains to write. She is just prolonging my frustration but pretending to care but absolutely doing nothing except giving impossible solution. Sheraton Xian had DISGRACED Marriott, the wonderful brand I thought I know.||||You can be the judge. I will tell you everything that happened:||||It seems i was checkedout prematurely||||The cleaner obviously thinks i have checked out. The room was restored to its default mode. I told front desk, i want all expense item (eg. Mini bar) to be removed. Those people just locked the fridge. During check in, I specifically said do not lock, remove the items because i want to use the fridge. Ill definitely write a feedback for you guys in all the online portals. This is by far the most disgusting sheraton in the world.||||To test my hypothesis, i asked the front desk if i had late checkout. It was already promised to me during check in. She took forever to verify and had to call me back much later. Obviously some idiot must have checked me out accidentally.||||I complained about the room looking like it had been cleaned out and asked what happened. The front desk said it is my own fault for not putting do not disturb sign. She was obviously trying to hide the fact that someone must have thought i had checked out.||||Everything was GONE!!!!! ALL MY STUFF!!! Luckily I did not have any valuable in the room. Phew!||||Even after already cleaning out my room, the cleaner came and knock nonstop. She asked if the room had been cleaned. Dont you guys make a record of which room had been cleaned? Absolutely horrendous.||||Then there is a random guest who attempted to enter my room. To give sheraton some benefit of a doubt. Maybe he was mistaken. However it just reinforces my opinion that some front desk staff had checked me out.||||This is disgusting. Worst of all the marriott chain hotel i had been to.||||I complained to Xian Sheraton, and the loyalty manager just said, "Oh I am sorry but there is nothing we can do. We can give you free upgrade, but you need to stay at our hotel. I can give you a teapot, but only if you come to China and stay in Xian." Basically, they are telling me that if I dont intend to stay in Xian anymore, it is just too bad, "buzz off".||||I was A Loyal Marriott Fan, but now with this disgusting Sheraton experience, I really dont know. Read moreFantastic hotel in Xian! The only downside is that it’s not central – the city center is a 10 minute cab ride away, which ran me $2-3 each way. All the staff I’ve dealt with have been extremely friendly and accommodating. I was upgraded to an Executive Suite, and check-in was performed in my room. The room is spacious and despite some spots in the carpet, pretty clean. It wasn’t renovated, but it’s still much better than your average Sheraton, so I had no complaints. The toiletries are the usual Sheraton items, and I’ve got at least half a dozen bottles of water scattered throughout my room.
Unfortunately, my Executive Suite smelled of burning plastic/rubber throughout the night. The next day, I was moved to a renovated apartment suite. No smell, but the layout is absolutely baffling. It’s a very small suite, and has no desk. A round table in the living room is placed near the window, but the power sockets are several feet away. So unless you have a long cord for your laptop, you’re out of luck. Trash cans are not very well located either, but after rearranging the furniture, I was good to go. Still, I found the room to be a bit cramped – these rooms could use less furniture.
The Executive Lounge puts out a very impressive evening spread. Salad bar, cheese plates, about a dozen different types of food, and a good alcohol selection. You can easily have dinner here. Plats can have breakfast in the lounge or downstairs in the restaurant. Afternoon tea consists of two jars of cookies. Was expecting a bit more there.
The gym is well equipped, and is open 24/7 via keycard access. It is staffed during daytime hours. No problems with Internet speeds. I booked a massage downstairs, and it was excellent.
